They're trying to use the Uber model on whole world, but it won't work.

its a pretty standard tech disruption model Amazon used it, Microsoft, Apple, its the default playbook

Becomes viable if the cost of tokens comes down, big if though

Yeah, given the need to recoup investors money at some point, they can't drop too far.

There's going to be a big blow up and market correction (to put it mildly).

Then we'll see who's survived.

AI takes a **** ton of money to maintain, tokens will only get more expensive as the tech bros realise they need to try making a profit eventually

It's like a drug dealer, they were trying to give you the shit for free to get you hooked, then once you're addicted, they up the price. Except I don't think as many people are as hooked on the shit as they want to be, and people won't pay a premium subscription for AI stuff when they increase the price. The bubble's gonna burst

Some people are trying to sell the idea that AI will lead us into some kind of panacea where work becomes optional and everyone is wealthy from a UBI. The theory is that AI will become taxed in the same way that oil in Alaska is taxed, and the dividends shared. And that AI will result in all products being cheap so $3,000 per month buys you a comfortable lifestyle.

There's a lot of assumptions built into that model.

Will the billionaires in control of AI allow their assets to be heavily taxed?
Housing remains the biggest cost for most people. Robots can't build a house, let alone for someone on $36,000 pa.
If everyone is entitled to UBI, what is the incentive for people to work in vital jobs such as healthcare, plumbing, police?

Got served up these weird ads on twitter. Wondered who was behind them.
Clicked through and got sent to a page that looked like an ABC news article

Read through and it's got a transcript of a fake argument between Lambi and Taylor about cost of living where she blasts Taylor for being out of touch. Then it pivots to Lambi shilling for an AI investment opportunity.

Can't imagine any parties involved would be happy with this shit.

(Wasn't sure if there was a better thread to put this in)

This is an example of AI misidentification resulting in false arrest, these seem to be increasingly common. The AI had a 93% facial match (whatever that means) then the police, despite contrary evidence arrested the man and kept him incarcerated for 2 months. When you read it, the failures, at multiple levels, are really human.

Yeah that’s the sticking point. Also, billionaires facilitating a comfortable lifestyle for all citizens???

Comedy Central Lol GIF

I would like to see it to believe it lol. They could technically do closer to that now, but they don’t. What makes us believe they’ll do it when AI “reduces the cost of living” if it ever even does such a thing? They also said Elon Musk was there. They mean the Elon that has track record of broken promises? Yea lol I don’t buy anything they’re selling
