...2014 with ticks to make it look like they’re being objective.
Left out 2018 where they got Quaynor at 13 (academy selection though), NathanMurphy at pick 39 in 2017, McCreery at pick 44 in 2020, and all the late pick/rookie selections that others have listed (Mihocek, Noble).
Also not...

Average career player ratings 2017 draft crop below. Pretty sure they are all playing now bar NathanMurphy and I've captured everyone who is playing still.
Things to note
* = has benefitted from playing much fewer games at younger ages, and more at a mature age.
** = tall players who played...
...Oscar Allen
So then the next bracket (11 players) that Rayner is in: Ainsworth, Will Powell, Petty, Bonar, Fogarty, Rayner, NathanMurphy (now out of the game), Farrell, Switkowski, Holman, Amartey.
So we can argue until we're blue in the face about where Rayner sits from this draft class...
I agree they have value, but unfortunately, good list management requires tough conversations to be had. They didnt make the hard calls.
Howe is easily replaced. Theres heaps of small forward with better outputs that Elliott.
Hawthorn and Geelong have made hard calls all throughout their...
...their worth to us still. The poor drafting has resulted in a bad VFL side void of emerging talents to take over from the older crew.
NathanMurphy’s retirement has left a gaping hole in our defence. He was purely defensive and mopped up a lot of mistakes and covered for our mostly attacking...
We desper
Not sure you can make such a claim without considering the impact of having an AFL level midfield vs having a VFL level midfield.
The absence of a genuine, capable inside mid has in my mind been absolutely devastating to our game plan and structure. That, and the loss of Cox.
Nah, dont buy it.
Darcy has been terrible all year and even last year was struggling.
NathanMurphy retiring has killed the captains career.
Murphy made Moore look good.
...near last year’s all-Australian form.
Moore, 28, has played every game but has struggled defensively in the wake of fellow key back NathanMurphy’s forced retirement and has also declined in average disposals, marks and rebound 50s.
Craig McRae says Collingwood captain Darcy Moore is...
In regards to Murphy and Carmichael we have already replaced them in numbers with our 2 mid season picks. I would think they would get another year on the rookie list.
I'll give you an update on some of the above.
HAWKS WINNING FREE AGENCY BATTLE
Hawthorn is increasingly confident Josh Battle wants to join the Hawks to become part of their premiership charge after an extremely promising meeting with coach Sam Mitchell.
St Kilda and Hawthorn will both offer...
...my recruiting/trade suggestions:
Josh Battle- at the right price- this 26 year old would be fantastic- has many similar attributes to NathanMurphy but can also go forward.
Isaac Cumming- would be an upgrade on both Noble and Markov- is an excellent user by foot and is quick.
CJ Jiath-...
...already have at least two AA guernseys to hid name already.
Weitering is the perfect fit for Collingwood, who unfortunately lost NathanMurphy prematurely and will complement Darcy Moore and the likes of Quaynor, Maynard and Noble for years to come.
Premierships are built on defence and...
Playing forwards back seems to be a one way street, once we introduce them to the backline, they seem to stay there - Moore, Reid, Tarrant, Billy, you could even put Neon Leon in that group. My preference would be to give Reef more time in the hybrid forward role (ideally interchanging with JDG...
...Collingwood captain, who clearly is not smiling now."
But where exactly has Moore gone so wrong?
The loss of Pies lock down defender NathanMurphy, who was forced to medically retire earlier this season due to ongoing concussion issues, has meant Moore's usual role as a roaming intercept...
Sounds well and good, except he isn't a failed forward. He's a midfielder being played as a forward. Mid-forward needs to be his role going forward.
Unless you think he can be what Crisp was, half back-midfielder.
The irony of that game is that he must have copped a blast at half time from Fly because in the second half he went shoulder to shoulder with Lynch and even outmarked him with contested grabs conceding just 1 goal for the 2nd half. So is Fly berating him or not?
But all he can do now is spoil.
What about trying him out a defender with a view possibly to try to replace some of the work that NathanMurphy did with intercepts, punching & tackling? Now I am not assuming that it is a given that he will definitely succeed in the backline but there has been quite a long history in both the...
Whilst we're spit-balling:
Bytel to play a stopping role on Day
McStay (needs no explanation)
McInnes to interchange with JDG between full-forward/on-ball
WHE/Long to play a defensive role on Sicily
Outs: one of: Lipinski (sorry Jen2310), Markov, HH and Shooter
you were doing just ok until walked onto that limb .. you brought up Allan .. suggest you go and wtch a VFL game occsionally .. Allan just doesnt look the goods at present - Sullivan streets ahead of him in pecking order for a start , even macrae i s ahead of him and HDM also ...
...why not try Reef McGinnes as an intercept defender to see if he could start to learn to play the critical role that was produced with NathanMurphy's unfortunate retirement. I am sure that he is big enough. OK. Now I am not sure that he would have the tank to go into the mid-field but he...
