He seemed out the door until offers dried up due to his foot injury.
He also stated on 5aa that his last contract was about looking after himself.
This is all fine. I just reject the warm and fuzzy perception that he’s somehow more loyal than any other professional athlete.
His “loyalty”...
He certainly played his heart out, never shirked an issue out on the field.
I don’t get why loyalty gets brought up all the time though. Is it because he was mates with danger and he stayed while danger bailed?
We (over)paid through the nose to keep him.
When talking about a players resume at the end of a career I don’t think a goal in a gf (unless it was pivotal) belongs in the same sentence as games played, awards won, captaincy etc.
It’s more like trivia.
Watch us
It’s funny too, given all the draft capital we’ve spent on the backline, we have
Murray
Keane
Butts
Borlase
Off the rookie list.
And Mitch Hinge who champion data have crowned as the greatest player of all time (or something) as a DFA.
FishMac was a bust obviously, and...
He’s not top 10% in the league and he’s not our best player either.
He should have been a stop gap option in the midfield, and there should be another Soligo or two to push him out of there by now.
