Not really. The club obviously thinks he’s worth consideration to be included in the team. If he was as unprepared as so many are saying, he would not be in the squad. I’ll support Whatever the club decides.

The past does not matter, only what he is doing now. If Dear was just getting 5 kicks and scoring 2.2 each match, I might be sympathetic to the view that he needs to do more. His numbers are good all over. Reports all confirm he works hard.

Calshier Dear's talent was obvious to me from day 1 too.

Buddy was not drafted as a generational talent. He was so skinny that he was not recognised as a proper KPP in the AFL until his 3rd season.

What's odd is that our best CONTESTED MARKING FORWARD is often in the top 2-3 for kms covered during a match. Surely this has to change. He is most dangerous close to goal. Just keep him there and maybe he might not get injured so much.

Relevant period in this sport is about 20 years. Can you remember any KPP since Buddy/Roughy were draft performing better over 5-6 weeks and still not getting a game? I don't.
