Totally agree. There are some in here who believe North need not wear their home kit (their own jumper and shorts combo) that is a little difficult for teams to get around if they have no imagination or a third kit, but then don’t apply that logic to their own team with it’s inherent problems...
To me each club can wear what they like as their home and others have to accommodate. But wisdom and humility would dictate not be half dark/half light. Back panel is about the same size as shorts so same logic must apply.
And you used to have one that didn’t have the white back. The same logic that those on here pay out North Melbourne can be applied to the white backed Port Adelaide jumper. Port’s jump is dark from the front and light from the back, quite confusing against teams like Geel, North , Coll and those...
The AFL ticks off all sorts of things. Two byes for some teams before others have one and we could go on and on…But they tick off Collingwood v Geelong sometimes when Geelong have blue shorts, Collingwood white and all types of rubbish.
I really don’t get the white number panel, it’s a visual...
Port Adelaide have the same chip on their shoulder with their white number panel. It often causes clashes and did the other week against the cats. Norths white shorts are about the same size as that number panel. And similar ego type reason for having it.
That would be ridiculous if you traditional jumper made the perfect match up as the away team. I rather see the traditional jumpers, where possible, on all the away teams we play.
Or they had this weird white one with the hawk head down the side on the front about a decade ago. Quite white from the front, but full brown on the back, and wore it against Carlton, and from behind it was a clash as bad as anything we’ve ever seen, from two teams that don’t clash!
Hawthorn...
Hawthorn getting closer to a clash where one never ever existed. They did this with North last week too. Bulldogs and North both have white in their guernseys.
If Hawthorn just wore their traditional guernsey, which is predominantly gold, and brown shorts, definitely not white, there would be less brown than we now have and no white, there would be no issue. I actually think Hawthorn is the ‘problem child’ these days. They wore this combo (brown...
Not necessarily. A sash or hoops with right colour combo could look original and traditional and great. As for Suns and Giants, both have poor choice of , both are uninspiring and uninteresting to me. Suns should have Gold not yellow and some other colour that works with it and I reckon Giants...
3 teams have the hoops, Geelong Bulldogs and Crows, 3 have stripes and one with tri-panel kinda stripes, 2 with sashes, 2 monogram’s, multiple variations on yokes, 1 wings and a weird G. Maybe Tassie will have some hoops?
Let’s do a hypothetical, if Port were allowed to wear the Prison Bars what would be the clash strip and against who? The white back on some traditional prison bars guernseys and current AFL guernsey creates its own problems against dark teams.
I remember drawing the first two designs years ago and putting them on here. But obviously other people were thinking the same thoughts and doing way more professional images than I could do. This would be a great AFL team set of jumpers with somewhat historical Port Adelaide look to them.
Watching a few minutes of the Superbowl, it’s a bit of a mess really, too much white on each uniform, should only be on one.
Gold Coast could learn a bit. Individually each uniform looks great, the Suns kits are horrible, they have good colours to work with but poor execution thus far.
That stuff on your site looks amazing, well done. You’ve got the royal blue right too, often too dark like the BLK days. I like the look of the Sir Doug Nicholls round with the aboriginal flag, but each year on here I wonder whether we could or should be the dingoes instead of bulldogs in those...
There are some instances against say Geelong or North it would help with Bulldogs. The problem is thinking one clash jumper solves all clashes but it makes things worse in some instances so a third helps. And with the Bulldogs being royal blue, that means they are kind of in the middle of the...
Thanks. I personally reckon when a team creates a clash jumper they do with essentially the same pattern as their home jumper. I always thought Melbourne’s best clash would be your royal version well before you eventually chose it. Because it had a heritage and still uses the same pattern and...
I have always loved the flag logo as our best ever and your logo modernises that great logo and maybe even improves upon it? The 2nd one is definitely better with our hoops, could a triangle version work? The Bulldog looks great standing up nice and strong. This logo is way way better than our...
I’ve been painting some MDF ‘flags’ with different patterns and colours and thought after seeing this one that could work for the Gold Coast. Proper gold colour with the double yoke? Different but still would look like an Aussie rules jumper.
