I think we need some left field thinking:
Out: Gollant, Smith, McHenry (assumes Berry is fit to go based on injury update)
In: Butts, Curtin, Crouch. Butts up forward as a marking option / ruck chop out to replace Gollant. We can always swing him back if he's struggling. Keane and Borlase were...
I agree with much of this, but there have been a lot of duds in that list. There's certainly been a reluctance to debut young players early on, whereas some teams have accelerated their youngsters development by playing them in the seniors - often before they were truly ready. It's left us...
A major one courtesy of Rachele, not the defenders...Rachele should've been at the fall of the ball not spoiling it to a host of Bombers behind the pack.
The first bounce after half-time...Rob gets an excellent tap (probably his only clean tap to advantage) to one of our blokes who's on the move (can't recall if it was Soligo or Rank), and we're on our way. Whistle blows and soft-utensil free paid to Goldstein (Hodge questioned that one too)...goal...
This is why these guys keep getting a golden ticket...our experience in the 100 to 200 game mark is pretty much non-existent. Interesting to note the Bombers should really be contending with that profile...more experienced than Carlton. Avg 109.6 games to our 77.3 (which dipped markedly with...
The loss of Berry also hurt us badly...we really needed him around the ball in that last qtr. That said, 16 I50's in the last qtr for 2.4...shows again our lack of composure and ability to hit targets (well most of the time, the two Rachele missed marks compounded this of course). We should...
I cannot remember the last time we played at home where we've looked switched on from the first bounce (maybe Carlton in the gather round last year?). We're always slow off the mark and having to claw our way back.
I think they kicked the last 3 goals 4...7 shots to zip...we just switched off. Berry off with an ankle is a huge loss...now we've had to play Laird in and around the ball and the usual horrid kicking is coming back to bite us. Nick's needs to try something...maybe even Hamill, as he's got some...
I disagree...he was terrible last week, but has had a couple of solid grabs tonight....that last miss was bad, however. If he had people other than Keays, Jones and McHenry kicking it fwd, he'd be fine.
Lucky to be in it at half-time. Need to change that mix again...Rankine hasn't looked like it...thank God for Dawson late in the qtr. I'd almost throw Tex in the middle, his ball-handling is elite and he nearly always finds someone either by hand or foot. Reckon we tag Merrett...stick Keays on...
Like Hamill's work and run...too bad about the last kick but he made a contest on the wing. Rachele looks good too...clean with the ball...and Fog finally took an overhead mark!!!! Hope we can keep it going in 2nd qtr...
Agree with rest of the post, but no way was ROB soundly beaten - he broke even at worst. Also you could've given some accolades to Hamill too...he was excellent.
Yep, Was saying it to myself at the game...Keays actually played on as well....didn't use his full 20 seconds...just mind-bogglingly stupid given the clock.
Fog had cement hands though yesterday (ROB's been training him I think)...and having played the game myself, there were times when marks stuck and sometimes they didn't (I often felt my hands felt drier when I had bad days...but I digress). He did manage to stick at it and was still of value in...
