Went and seen a couple of games this week, Merrivale out classed Allensford. The tigers are starting to put a few big scalps together, playing for Jack. Todd is doing a great job as a player coach for such a young man. Allensford are a bunch of honest battlers who seem to play for each other...
Everybody has gone very quiet in here, Dennington, Collegians, Rovers and Creek supporters have shut up shop early - come on give us something.:thumbsd:
Geez collegians side is alot different to last years grand final team, I reckon 8 or 9 changes no Crawford, Gleesons or McCartneys. Merrivale is missing 4 or 5 but the big one is McLean, I heard he had a knee scrape during the off season, I wonder if this is the problem? hmmmm
Round 1
Deakin to beat East (very easy pick haha)
Collegians at home by less than a goal over Merrivale
Allansford should be to strong for Nirranda
Panmure should flogg Dennington
Kolora to break some kind of recourd in thier win against Creek
and Timoon in a close one over Rovers
Tossed up between Collegians and Merrivale for 5th spot heads was collegians.
Heard thier was a bit of a scuffle on the Panmure bus after the practise match at Koroit, 2 players had to be seperated, I won't devulge thier names but I will say 1 was supporting a cast on his arm and used it to...
Heard Pamure may have enough players to enter 2 teams this year and if the locals are correct both teams would play off for the flag. 52 at the 1st training pre christmas and half the town turned up to watch em train. The pressure will be on tocka to have a bit of success. Have heard they...
Just got the word that Joe McLaren from Koroit will coach the new Hampden league club when it gets the ok to join and I was also told Todd McLean, Brad Kelly and Peter Macarona will join him. Collegians look certain to loose Gareth Crawford back to Hamilton and with Jarrod Gleeson retiring will...
Well here it is grand final eve let's hope we see a good game tomorrow, Johnson v Crawford, Barker v Rounds I think will be the main match ups. No changes from either team although their is a strong rumour Collegians may look at another ruck man. Let's just hope there are no injuries and the...
I am going to agree with you Local as long as Clinton Hall comes up, his run up and down the wing on Saturday and a couple of goals in the 1st quarter set the warriors up. You mentioned the small ruck option, do you think Keane is still a chance I know Patch has been good but if Robinson is as...
What a huge win by the Warriors, Crawford is a gun and Sargent shut up shop for Big Todd.
Did anyone else see Hall limping to the bench mid way through the 3rd?
I popped down to Landmann st last night to catch the tigers training. Greeny and nestor both seemed to be training ok, didn't see bomber gleeson but it was dark and I was up on the hill. But after training I heard a door slam and a white wagon spinning the wheels and speeding out of the car...
I got to last sundays game a bit early and the door to the medicle room was open, I seen highly respected long time creek trainer lyle earls working on the back of adam greene from merrivale as he was getting off the bench the collegian boys started comming in for strapping, I thought this was...
Sorry Fan09 they where watchin' both the Netball and Football, they left the scoreboard at half time when the netball finished and went to the other side:thumbsu: and they even had a booth over there.:thumbsu::thumbsu:
Bloody hell the power turned out the lights on the tigers on Saturday very powerful performance. The tigers struggled to get the ball to Todd early, because Kolora gave then no chance out of the midfield. I stood under the scoreboard and had a few froffies listening to the Merrivale hierarchy...
Friday again predicting time, I am going to go with Kolora tomorrow, not sure if the big ground will suit Merrivale’s style of play as well as the smaller friendly’s did. Sunday will see the Warriors bounce back after the touch up last week, although with Hall still doubtful an upset is not out...
Barker 18 Lewis 11 no surprise there
Congratulation Brad Johnson
Team of the year was pretty good (no Lewis tho). I was with Chaz thinking Trent Clarke from east should have at least made the pine. Very tough picking a team, supporters from each club think that their players should have...
Merrivale played a great game today the collegian boys came out a bit flat and the tigers smashed em early. Todd McLean was brilliant early and the mid field gave it to him lace out. OC will need to come out firing early next week or they won't get with in 10 goals of rovers who should get up...
I am starting to think Collegians will struggle without Forth, watched them play Merrivale last time round and I still believe if Gleeson stays on Tigers win. The match up McLean (who has a bit of a knee) V Williams (who has a bit of an ankle) will be the deciding factor. Leaning slightly...
He gave Waggy a back hander, he got offered 1 week, nobody knows if he is going to fight it or take the week, from all reports it was a soft report, but if he fights it and gets 2 or 3 it could be season over.
Ok on to the last round - Wanstead st will be rockin' after EW beats DU in the who cares cup. TD will finish over the top of Panmure, thier form has just tappered off over the last month where as Timboon pushed OC 2 weeks ago. RC to beat Merrivale beacause they would love to have some bearing...
All a source told me is this player has not played for a few weeks and is in doubt for this game, but will be ready for the first week of the finals if his team is playing. The decission to play him at the hampden club and have him ready for the second week of finals is still not certain.
Just been talking to a bloke who was in a taxi last night, the taxi driver said he was getting a hair cut and he over heard 1 of the hair dresses saying that she is some how related to a high profile club president. This hairdresser said that a player from from this club may play a game for...
