Australia vs India First Test - Adelaide Oval - Dec 9 - Dec 13

yes and if he is not playing shield, surely bowling in the nets with the Australian bowling coach present is a good idea for a young bowler who is potentially a strike bowler for the Australian team, also with a short turn around between tests resting hazelwood for Brisbane make sense to me...

Is this what we want to see back in Footy?

Hardly surprising that wilson went so hard, if you follow ice hockey you would know about the line brawl that happened in november between these 2 teams, games betwwen the flyers and capitals are going to be physical and emery's attack on holtby in that line brawl was a way bigger dog act than...

Hypothetical: The Effect of Removing Runners

With the video for behind the play incidents the emergency umpire could perhaps police it, otherwise I agree It is not a problem that requires more umpires or officials yet.

Hypothetical: The Effect of Removing Runners

used to be a rule that a runner could deliver a message to 2 players then had to leave the ground immediately, not certain but I believe umpires had the right to ban the runner for the rest of the game if they did not adhere to the rules. I use to do the running for my clubs underage and once...

WSYD GWS Just Has To Do Some Trades

This is a very good point, Carlton made some silly mistakes drafting midfielders and it will take 5 years for us to get young talented KPP that are ready to play quality AFL, in a drafting rebuilds clubs need to get the KPP players first and allow them to take 4 to 5 years to develop and then...

    A vent thread about drugs

Plenty of athletes whose life has been ruined by PEDs, plenty of athletes have died before 40 due to taking PEDs, plenty of athletes have suffered mental health issues due to prolonged use of PEDs.

    Fawad Ahmed

This is one of the best post I have read in so long, You sum up all my frustrations with junior cricket perfectly, sadly I hear so many people saying this but it is ignored by the people at the top.

    Fawad Ahmed

Why cant the people at the top see what so many people involved in cricket at all levels see is what amazes me, we need to get a focus on coaching good techniques back or we are just going to get worse, no player should get past district or grade cricket without having shocking flaws fixed but...

    over soon

I have never said the IOC did not set up WADA , you are obviously not aware of Gen. Barry McCaffrey and the Amercian governments involment in this. Firstly the amercians threatened to withdraw the IOC tax exemption status, costing the Olympics 2 billion every 4 years, unless the joke of a...

    over soon

And how did this funding come about, the IOC was dragged kicking and screaming over a number of decades, WADA had a huge fight to get the IOC on board, At the time the IOC did not want anti doping as it made sport look bad. Thankfully covering up is no longer acceptable.

Deep enough to take on international cycling whose teams have way bigger income to spend on this stuff than essendon, Lance Armstrong is reported to have lost 140 million on the day he was found guilty, yet all that was not enough to save him, The Olympic movement also has a lot of money yet...

If Shaw got 8 weeks and $20k fine for betting a tenner?.........?

or if the doctor said to you, do not drive due to your heart condition but you still decide to drive. Like how the players are constantly educated to know what they are taking, cant plead dumb now sorry

Player due diligence... how much is enough?

Yes but the player can say they have done all that can be expected of them, it would be hard for ASADA to say you did not try and find out about this if they at least inquired and all athletes who contact ASADA are given a reference number so ASADA would not be able to dispute that effort.

Player due diligence... how much is enough?

If a player has contacted ASADA he would have a reference number from them dated and would have a defence. If a player does not have a reference number from ASADA he has no defence.

    Sheffield Shield Final Round

I think we need a massive review of our junior development programs, players seem to be coming in at a younger age than years ago, state teams did not have them playing for development that was what grade cricket was for, now we rush them in as they are the future but I prefer the old way of...

Brad Hodge considering comeback for Ashes

Ponting averaging 118 in first class this season, and how did that work out at international level, Hodge has not even proven he can bat for a long period, field, so how anyone can predict he would be a better option than people playing first class now is beyond me.

LOL You do remember Malthouse coached collingwood last year, I would dare say he has a lot more knowledge on the coaches role in list Management at collingwood than you could possible have.

The penalty for 'standing' used to be 7 games

In 94 Dermott was playing for the swans and Tallis was at hawthorn, so footage from a Essendon v Hawthorn game surely does not apply to the specific incident the op was talking about.

TAS If an 18 team National Comp was started from scratch..

there are 3 areas in tassie that would provide players for a underage team and last time it was tried they had 3 training bases, south, north and north west, the logistics are a nightmare the travel for some would equal 20 hours most weeks if there was only one base and to be effective they need...

AFL players adopted son - not eligible to be considered under the father son rule
