I know that draft pick points don't always reflect the reality of the situation, but assuming dogs finish somewhere similar next year, that trade valued Treloar at a pick in the 60s WTF?!
A "whisper" was posted on a newspaper about a draftee having medical records to prove that he can't move interstate. I know that this is about Bailey Smith but I don't know what the medical issue is.
To me, Jong is almost like the opposite to Suckling. When he is under the pump and in tough spots, he generally does ok because he doesn't have time to think about things and just does it, but when he has space, he somehow just psyches himself out and does dumb things. The worst kicks I've seen...
The Jong defenders just don't get it. Don't they know that tackles and good handballs from Jong don't count. The only thing that exists is that if a mistake is made when he is within 20m of the ball, it's his fault.
Given that Koby looked like he was going for nothing, I'm alright with upgrading 61 for 50. Move our last selection up a few spots for Dal to weave his magic.
If what Nick Bowen is saying eventuates, I'll be gutted. I really like Nathan and if it wasn't bad enough having to see him play for those dirtbags, we get jack all in return.
North are going to be s**t next year, but even if they get the wooden spoon and we win the premiership again, a third...
There's a whole lot of different combinations, but some examples include:
32 + 43 = 19
32 + 35 = 16
32 + 35 + 43 = 9
32 + 35 + 43 + 50 = 6
If those are the picks we end up with and assuming we don't bring anyone else in, definitely should be packaging them up for a trade.
Dogs leaked this as a massive f**k you to the AFL. We won the premiership and we're ready to rub everyone's faces in it and reminding them of the times they tried to keep us down. We're getting arrogant and I'm loving it.
35 is unders for Hamling if you just look at his ability as a player. However, given he is uncontracted, has nominated Freo and that Freo don't have much else to give, it's probably what we'd have to settle for.
I'm not a massive Motlop fan but if he's available for Hrovat and pick 40, you'd take him for sure. He's not a lazy spud, he's a lazy gun and Bevo has a habit of inspiring players to be better and put in effort. If Motlop came into our team, there's a good chance that he'll be our Eddie Betts.
Freo supporters on their board are talking about being reluctant to lose pick 35 for Hamling and think he is worth between 40-50 at best. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that Hamling could go for only pick 35.
I have faith in McCartney to get the best out of this situation though...
Is this at the dog park in West Footscray? I thought I saw him once and my dog ran up to him overexcited and jumped at him, I had a heart attack thinking she'd bump his knee.
We know very little about Marcus's situation at the moment so I don't think we should be bagging him just yet. Don't forget about his relationship with his brother and it was highlighted even before he was drafted that it would be a difficult thing for them to be separated.
Barrett just put this on his sliding doors:
"IF there's one club playing high-grade poker in this trade period ...
... it is the Dogs. Look out when they reveal their hand. Bevo might have a flush, maybe a full house."
What are we planning?!
Know that Greenwood was offered up in a rejected trade offer already during this trade period. Don't know about Aish but I know that some people higher up at Collingwood don't rate him that highly anymore.
I can almost guarantee that most of the journalists will have very short memories about Boyd. The minute he has a poor stretch of form, they'll be back to bagging him and will conveniently backtrack on the idea that Boyd winning the premiership justifies the contract.
I think you're selling his performance on Saturday a bit short. His technique definitely improved, he was caressing the ball and was taking them even when in packs. As stated by one of the members here that it's tougher when you just try to clunk it every time.
If the grand final is anything to go by, he's starting to figure out how to take them regardless. He used to stick the hands straight out and the ball will bounce right off, but during the grand final he was turning in the air as he took them and had much softer hands making it much easier to mark.
