I have a new game up if anyone is interested called Evolution League.. A keeper style AFL game which involves a Salary cap and uses Supercoach scoring (which coaches have to put up). If your interested please message me as I am looking for 15 other coaches to join to get it running throughout...
Stuff the shortlist, give it him. The amount of overhauling that had gone on and still only 1 game shy of the playoffs contention.
Evan Turner has embraced his second chance at the nba IMO. Just needs to be more consistent
We certainly have the picks and cash to burn. We are that far under the cap and tax line.
To think that the Brooklyn trade offered us 3 picks (2014, 2016, 2018 and a swap of picks if we wish in 2017), Zeller, Thomas and a wad of cash.. gift that keeps of giving.
I like that idea. Only downside is that clubs might allow players of Christensen's calibre to slide thus decreasing Geelong's return.
Only other suggestion is that the AFL gathers the offers of said player and then see if the club that the player wants to go to will match it/better it. I mean...
You're comparing codes that don't have drafts to codes that do.
NRL, Rugby, Soccer don't have drafts! In the AFL, NBA, NFL, MLB do.
We have a choice, yes. They chose to play AFL knowing that if they enter a draft, they could go anywhere and they are paid a 6 figure income doing what they love...
And clubs invest hundreds and thousands of dollars into young kids to develop them. If you actually read my initial post I'm not against Free Agency. I'm against players who haven't played for 8 seasons demanding to be traded to a particular club thus limiting the value that their current club...
It's not free agency he is bitching about, its young kids who aren't eligible (e.g Tom Boyd, Dayne Beams andJared Polec) , bending their clubs over a barrel demanding to be traded to their club of choice or walking out (meaning the club gets nothing).
They are human beings, but they are also UNDER CONTRACT. They joined the AFL via a draft knowing they might not get to a club in the same state or one they barracked for as a kid. So why should they dictate the terms of where they go if they aren't eligible as a free agent? They know the Terms...
Reading Damien Hardwicks article on AFL.com about the current trade period got me agreeing that players have too much say in where they go before they are eligible for free agency.
I agree with his sentiment that it makes harder for clubs to rebuild when 18 and 19yr olds, who haven't even...
I disagree. He is now our highest scoring player. Ainge isn't going to get rid of him. He wanted Thomas before he went to Phoenix.
Still only 26 and averaging over 15ppg and 4assist coming off a 20ppg last season, Im glad we got him. Only downside is his assist column. Paid a pittance to get...
The Suns looking to trade Goran to an asset rich team not on his preferred list of clubs... like that has a happy harmony ring to it.
I'm not keen on the idea of Celtics giving up picks and young talent for a 28 year old who might not sign a max level contract. Especially if he DOESNT want to...
our 12 first round picks and 12mill in salary exceptions say otherwise.
dont underestimate Ainge. He turned the club around in '03 and in 5 years got us a championship. Now he is doing it again. Clubs want picks and we have them. You don't see it now, but we are in a great spot. Under the tax...
