I don’t disagree entirely but our lack of midfield pressure/defensive efforts is why we are so easy to beat.
Worpel is just one example of a player leaking goals at stoppages through lack of defensive positioning. We won’t even look like winning until our mids start sticking tackles.
How many senior list spots are open bow that Stephens and Wingard were rookied?
Does it change the number of selections we are looking at in the draft?
A bit of a dream scenario, but would anyone else be on board with trading pick 5 and our future first if it landed us McKercher and another top 10-15 pick this year?
I’m questioning the strategy, it’s equally as risky as the draft. Hence the struggle to reconcile.
We didn’t hit a winner in trade week last year, Meek and Stephens combined will be lucky to hit the average games played by a fourth rounder.
I’m not arguing the value of a third round pick, I’m...
Im struggling to reconcile this year vs last.
We excelled in the 22 draft whilst the incumbent players traded in didn’t excel.
This year we have targeted and trade in 4 players, each with a defined role and hold our first pick.
Our first pick this year must be an elite to mitigate the risk...
I like a good conspiracy so I’ll start one.
#W#WizisthetargetAre we fluffing WC so North will cough up and they can take Curtin & McKercher?
Do we then take the Wiz ahead of the Dogs or use this as leverage to land Baz?
Do we need him badly?
Throughout their careers statistically Chol and Kozi are near identical.
If we are willing to part with Kozi what is the benefit replacing him with an equal who is 3 years older?
The sky’s not falling.
Brockman may turn out to be the one that got away.
If we can add another first rounder to our draft haul this year we are still on the right path.
We have cut hard and recruited well over the past 2 years, we all championed for Sam to have a clean slate, here it is!
I’m not saying this sarcastically, but have you ever considered that some of your mail is junk?
I often see you post then get frustrated about certain players when the mail coming from the clubs themselves is the opposite.
His goal accuracy dropped 20% from 58% in 2022 down to 38% this season.
Petracca, Comben and Cumberland the only others to have a worse conversion rate of those players that average 2 or more shots per game.
I guess we will see in a weeks time with what the AFL dish out to North.
The industry have accepted what the McKay compo will be, but will the afl hand them a mid round priority pick prior to that?
Twomey on his podcast implied North could be in a position to trade for GC’s pick 5.
You make a compelling argument but that points column doesn’t lie either.
The game plan and fatigue is a factor but given this is the hypothetical trade thread maybe we throw them some half backs in exchange for a forward.
Hypothetically, if Dylan Stephens wants to get to Carlton who else gets involved to make that happen and who/what do the blues give up for him?
I don’t think we get involved, but there’s always plenty of moving parts
