Expecting a much more committed Geelong this week. Going to be a tough, low scoring affair. Fremantle looking the business, which has me nervous about what next week in a Perth office is going to be like :D.
Massively disappointing result. Can't say I'm surprised. I struggle to see the difference between this and the Hodge incident, other than Hodgey claiming he was avoiding a team mate. Both resulted in head high contact. At least Dog isn't free to get rubbed out for murdering Ballantyne at KP this...
I've been running an analysis on the Geelong related tweets post loss - put together an infographic here - let me know what you think http://bit.ly/10Nk7F7 :D
It was a shocking result. But writing our premiership chances off in June is foolish. We've beaten both of last year's grand finalists, Essendon and had interstate wins. We might be in the doldrums right now, but we've pretty much got top 4 sewn up. What more could we want as fans to this stage...
Some people around here seriously need to get a sense of perspective. One bad quarter and our season's over, we're out of premiership contention and this team is no good? Fair play to the Lions for catching us napping in that last quarter.
It's fr3aking June and we're 10-2. This team will come good.
I think we saw the best and worst of Motlop tonight. Absolutely cut them to ribbons at times, then ruined it with selfish acts and poor finishing. He's going to be a star when he puts it all together. Just needs more games under the belt and it'll come.
I've written up a match review here -...
Did enough, got over the line, with a bunch of wounded on the bench and nothing left in the tank for those left on the pitch. Stoked to be 5-0, having claimed the scalps of both of last years Grand Finalists in the process.

Personally, I'm not bothered that other clubs don't get access to the ANZAC day game at the MCG. It's a traditional showdown that many football fans enjoy outside of the fanbases of these clubs (this fan included) - imagine Gold Coast vs GWS as the 'headliner' on ANZAC Day if it was shared...
Devastating news, absolutely horrific for this courageous young man.
A huge mark of respect for the way the club is throwing their support behind him - the words from Chris Scott say it all really.
Whatever he decides to do, he's got the full support of everyone around him. It's all about...
If we bring our A-Game for a solid 4 quarters, I'm confident. If we bring our Meh-game for the first quarter... we're going to get rolled.
4 solid quarters of effort or bust.
Firrito reckons he didn't hear the whistle... take a look at the HUN video (linked below) - all his team mates have stopped - yet Firrito tries to boot it into the Gary Ablett Terrace down at Simonds Stadium...
I agree with this, but I'd like to add to my Motlop wishlist more of a 'team focus'. That snap at goal, where he ignored a completely open Caddy, was selfish. I have no doubt it will be raised with him by the coaching staff this week (and his team mates). I'm sure it will come with maturity and...
Pulled off an absolute heist today. We were criminally bad for the first half. North would be absolutely gutted to have dropped those 4 points. Well done Cats for working your way into it, but sheezus that was not good at all for the blood pressure.
We are going to get punished badly by other...
I reckon it's going to be a lot closer than 55 points. The 'Roos have improved a long way and will be pumped up after all the drama against the Pies.
Blog update >>>>I've put together a small wrap up of today's squad news and the various injury stories from around the traps <<<<
Kersten had a pretty decent day at the office from my limited memory of the game - Defender wise - Mackie, Lonergan were the only 'senior' back 6 players that day

Stokes has been talking about the inspiration Selwood gave the team after the half time break - http://www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2013-04-03/following-the-lead
A lot of respect from the Stoker for our captain. Was a massive effort from Selwood to lift our boys out of the doldrums after...
