So, just to reiterate, Wolfy is claiming there were 'friendlies' in India that Bradman refused to play in because he was scared of spin. I am a researcher by trade and i can't find anything on this. Anyone know anything?
Some commentators I recall reading did not even have campbell or gulden in their bests list at all.
I didn't think anyone really played consistently well in that match.
That's your opinion. I have seen power rankings that have him outside the top 3. Personally, I wouldn't have such a one dimensional player in the top 3.
Sorry, but every recruiter says it's garbage (false bids) and I believe them. Melbourne don't need Green, IMO. If they think he is the best player available and bid it is because they want him at their club. Further, I don't see Green as a replacement for Jones. They have already replaced Jones...
Mglynn had much better acceleration off the mark and aggression from what I have seen. Stats don't really show that. They both could shank the ball but I would rather Mglynn kicking inside 50 than Gray.
It is my preference, not who I think we will take.
I did clearly write 'my preferences', nothing to do with who we actually take.
No guessing involved whatsoever.
I prefer Serong to Green. The idea you need a JPK type in your midfield is a myth IMO.
Serong/Stephens/Robertson would be happy with. Flanders I would accept though think he plays a bit similar to Parker.
At the moment these are my preferences for pick 5:
Young (probably won't happen. If I was Melbourne or Adelaide I would take him regardless of needs)
Serong(predicted to now slide to 9 or 10 for some reason)
Green(won't happen)
Stephens
Robertson
Flanders
I think we should be able to get one...
As for Twomey's and Sheehan's Mock Draft, that was a complete waste of time and making any assumptions based on it would be a little silly. They clearly said at the start it was based on their interpretation of each clubs needs only. Twomey picked Young for Melbourne then in another video in the...
We just don't need to gamble on Kemp, either on his knees or his supposed upside. Kemp hasn't shown, through his production, that he is worthy of being taken as early as our pick, IMO. You gamble on upside by reaching for mcinerney, not at pick 5.we need someone with the runs on the board.
What I like about Rioli and Ryan is they are beautiful field kicks. They push up to the wing and kick it inside 50 to advantage. Johnson's disposal is generally terrible and according to Port supporters he is lazy. Just being a goal sneak isn't good enough anymore.
Personally, I don't find that goal very impressive. Fumbled the ball and got a bit lucky. Then I look up at the scoreboard and its 100-20 ports way. Junk time goal.
