Didn't they trade us the pick for Holmes as well?

Anyone hear of rumors of a possible debutant?

Toast Max Holmes extends his contract for four years.

Astute piece of coaching- load up with defence midfielders so we have runners like holmes on the rebound. Doesn't yet have the contested game for the midfield against the big boys but even if he doesn't develop that in his game he can be an AA level wing or half back

Traded Esava Ratugolea [Traded to Port Adelaide for #25, #76 and #94]

Thanks for that. I thought he was part of the West Coast Academy.

Traded Esava Ratugolea [Traded to Port Adelaide for #25, #76 and #94]

He looks the pick of the 3 players mentioned. I wonder why no interest from West Coast? He looks AFL ready imo

VFL VFL 2024 - Geelong & the greater league

Really like what I am seeing from some of the younger players we have on our list. A number of late picks who look like they could become serviceable role players. Humphries in particular has been impressive.

Confirmed Max Holmes [re-signed with Geelong through 2028]

I agree with this - he is a better prospect than Cerra was when he was traded purely due to his athletic traits though. He has shown that he can play to a near AA level on the wing and now is showing he can do it on the back flank. The question mark is on whether he wins enough contested ball to...

List Mgmt. Welcome to Geelong, Tanner Bruhn

Are you ok? Did you even read the context of the previous message before smashing that on the keyboard? Has tanner ever won a game off his own boot? No. A moronic take would be calling him Bruhnlow, a gun or star based on a a 20 touch 50% DE game as a midfielder. This thread was bumped by...

List Mgmt. Welcome to Geelong, Tanner Bruhn

I don't think I have been that harsh is 2024. I have said he is much improved. He has been called 'a gun', star and 'future captain material and Bruhnlow. Right now that is not what he is. I am calling what he is currently - a starting midfielder who is only just achieving the minimum standard...

List Mgmt. Welcome to Geelong, Tanner Bruhn

Our midfield is getting smashed every week and Tanner is a key component of that midfield. Scott has found a way of winning. Will it last? Who knows. Winning certainly papers over the cracks and will be interesting if everyone turns on the midfielders when/if we lose

No comment after the previous 2 games? When geelong got on top in the last against Brisbane, Tanner was riding the pine 😀

Review Cats turn Lions into wet pussies at the Gabba by 26 points

Playing rohan off half back is a terrible idea. Tried that at Sydney and was shocking. I would rather debut Humphries. It's not that much of a puzzle. Drop Clark.

What a great weekend. VFL played very well with our depth players clearly deserving of game time. Beat the brakes off the Lions and they looked broken by the end of the game. I agree but we clearly have deserving players in the VFL

Best coach in the AFL right now

Somehow undefeated with Parfitt, Bruhn and Atkins as the starting midfielders. Scott seems to continue to improve as a coach each year

Certified Legendary Thread 2 x Premiership Coach Chris Scott contracted to 2026 (aka the Chris Scott volumes

Undefeated with Parfitt, Atkins and Bruhn running as our main midfielders. No other coach in the league would be able to turn that into so many wins

Prediction The Rolling Outrageous Claims Thread

I'll rate Tanner once he becomes a better player than Parfitt. Well beaten over the last 2 weeks. Can I triple down on Hawkins being a liability? Neale looked good getting a game with Hawkins out

Analysis The Rebuilds of Geelong and Richmond and their Future Prospects

I don't get the comparison. Geelong rebuilt on the run and remain competitive. Richmond tried to rebuild on the run and missed the mark and are likely to cut the list deeper. Richmond have not drafted well in the last few years imo but might be to early to tell. Richmond should probably be...

Rumour GFC 2024 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

It's a poor comparison. Henry is under 190cm and Jamarra is 197cm and a key position player. We won't get a top 10 pick for Holmes as it stands but he does improve and is worth more by years end than yes that trade wouldnt work for Geelong. I would say Jamarra is worth a top 5 pick and...

Rumour GFC 2024 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

JUH is 197cm tall why compare to Henry who us less than 190cm? I have not heard of anyone compare him to Franklin. JUH dominance in the air was his 1 wood - something that was never considered a strength of Franklin. My thoughts exactly. As it stands Holmes isn't netting a top 5 pick unless he...

Rumour GFC 2024 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

I'm expecting our first round picks to be mid/late teens. UG would be worth a very early first (top 5) and Holmes. I'm not expecting us to have an early first. I think UG will become the best player in the game and we would get a decade of service out of him.

    Speculation Liam Baker

I thought the same then I looked at West Coast list and there is basically no players they could offer of any value outside there very best players.
