Hey all, been lurking awhile because I've only been backing brissie as my second team since I moved here august last year, but jeeze I have never been less phased by a 30 point loss. Only thing that really bothered me was the inability to generate scores from inside fifties early on (too much...
Yeah I agree, we most certainly are better with both. But when we're held back by financial considerations, I feel like it was fair that Shiel was the one to let go. I have no animosity against him at all, it was just a pragmatic decision from a team that needed to keep the powder dry for...
Also does our back office know what they're doing or what. Traded out on shiel at the peak of his value, like selling ahous in sydney a year ago. I really couldn't understand why our offseason was so maligned, I'm feeling pretty vindicated
Ok guys so I know there's 7 minutes left but I've been on the cans and so I feel well entitled to give my 2c. And I might be biased being a giants fan who lives in brisvegas but I have to say, having watched the games so far, the 2 teams that have looked best to date have been the giants and the...
Jesus, weren't essendon meant to be ascendant this season or something? We're playing pretty well but at this point it kind of feels like playing with one team on the field
Gotta say this is a very professional performance from the boys tonight. It seems so controlled and measured relative to how they've played in past seasons, and while it was a bit of a shock to start the game I'm kind of glad to see them taking this season as a marathon.
And straight off the...
Signed up for the Queensland supporter membership and I must say that it seems a very good deal compared to other interstate membership. Hoping to see some good headline numbers this year, hopefully we can get up to the 30k mark
That's an interesting point about the club staying mum. I haven't followed the ins and outs of who's saying what during the off season, but any idea on who is driving the deal news flow in this case? Coming out from the hawks to put pressure on us?
That does make sense and I really hope it comes off and we're able to keep those core guys as a result. Otherwise it's been a really challenging few weeks - I had expected shiel would go, but losing lobb and now scully feels like a big blow
Excellent writeup mate. I think you make a very good point about Leon as well. I personally feel he's done a very good job for the club in particular this year, holding everything together despite all the injuries and I think it would be a mistake to look to make a change to a successful head...
Gotta say the troll bloke did cheer me up though. Theres something especially absurd about a fan of the 13th ranked team trying to troll based on two year old success that brings a smile to your face
Well said mate. For pretty much every game I've watched this season (not just giants games) its seemed that the umps have decided to help one or the other team along. It shouldn't be something that fans notice watching games casually where they don't have a horse in the race, and I can see it...
Of course you'll win the flag. The dogs are famous for their premiership success, if I recall correctly that's what all the hype was a few years ago - shortest drought in afl history or something?
Seems on the money to me. League wants to have interstate teams say it's a national sport (except for tassie for some f***ed up reason) but then acts like no one but the Victorian teams deserve to win. What's the saying? It's a big club but you ain't in it?
I could handle it if we lost to the tigers - I genuinely believe they're the best team this season. What I can't handle is getting f***ed by the ump's so that the afl can keep its 'will this year's fairytail be for Collingwood or Melbourne' narrative going
I want to preface this by saying I'm really proud of how our boys have played this year. We've lost players at a rate that would make a ww1 general blush, and two years ago I would never have thought our team would be maintaining the poise and class they did over the season despite all the...
This umpiring is beyond a joke. It's not like this is a small game either so for it to be so clearly fixed is beyond a joke, it means the afl genuinely doesn't give a f*** if people know it's a fix as long as the pies win.
