While I agree, they did that deal because their F/S would have eaten up the 10, 17 picks so they would have probably only got 1 first round pick. Now even thou they lost them they still get 2 first round picks.
Yes 13 for Shiel is overs, but the point is we are overpaying Gresham, which is what creates the pick in the first place. If we didn't overpay the compensation would be at best a second rounder. Which if you want Shiel you might be losing anyway. So from the saints point of view it is no different.
Could also swap out first next year with one of those end of first rounders you got, just little bits to add value as well. Not sure how it will be done thou.
2.2 Goals per game is more then: Jack Darling, Gary Rohan, Orazio Fantasia, Tom Lynch(Tigs), Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Charlie Dixon, Tom McDonald, Oscar Allen, Luke Breust, Isaac Heeney, Brody Mihocek, Tom Papley, Tim Membery, Kysaiah Pickett, Jordan De Goey, Joe Daniher...
He has also...
Yes but in the second game you won by a larger margin. If the game was still a 40 point margin say 130-90 the % increases to only 103.67%. Meaning that a win in a higher scoring game is worse then the same margin in a lower scoring game.
If we trade a future forth for Peter Wright and/or Caldwell that means we cant trade our future first without first getting another one through a trade right? It will be interesting to see what we want to offer for Dunkley.
One outside the box Essendon player the dogs could want is Patrick Ambrose. One of those players that opposition fans don't even think of but he is a very good lockdown defender, while it defiantly wont be a straight swap he is a KPD that the dogs might want as a steak knives player. Also a...
Reading the update put out by Power yesterday I didn't get the feeling of 'There is no way we wont trade Dunkley' more just we would strongly prefer not to. Maybe there was other things he said before that weren't quoted.
I've noticed with AFL media that if the news is massive they will just say it straight up because you will click on the link anyway, if its a nothing article they will use clickbait. If Dunkley said either I'm going or staying it would be everywhere already.
Can you just think it through for a second. We are trying to get Dunkley so why would we leak information about what he is saying to the Bulldogs and risk the whole deal from happening because we are leaking private conversations about a player we are trying to recruit?
Thats leaving out Stewart who I thought had a good year once he got his touch back, even started taking a few contested grabs which is something I thought he lacked in previous years.
But if we offered him half as much and he still wanted to come would he only be valued at half what he currently is? Or would he still be valued high because his worth is the same to the dogs?
From what I hear Collingwood are in the same position as you this year for next year so they want less first rounders because a bid on Daicos will be high. An option I saw here was for us to trade one of our picks for Collingwoods first next year then offer both ours and Collingwoods to the...
I would do that deal but I don't think the Crows would be willing to drop down that low. Possibly might work with pick 2 if they get it as compo so they can take whoever they want but from their point of view you are already taking the best player in the draft so why would they let you take the...
Just been hearing on trade radio that it was likely to happen with Carlton. No reason we should offer the same deal with our pick 7, gives us more currency. I think we need to look to get another future first round pick whether it be another first or a second to help with the Dunkley deal...
I think if we do get pick 7 as compensation for Daniher we should give it to Geelong for 11 and 18(If they want to do the deal). That will give us 6, 12 and 19 before the Saad deal is even considered but that will kind of leave them stranded with only pick 8 to give up. Realistically we could...
What I don't understand is why people are making such a strong connection between how much we are offering Dunkley and what Essendon would need to give up in a trade. If Dunkley still wanted to join Essendon on only 2x$400,000 is he suddenly only worth 1 first rounder or less? If Essendon...
I don't think it'll be done for anything under two first round picks. Could potentially involve a player whether that is an Essendon player or another one the dogs are wanting to get from somewhere else.
