VFL Past #65: Shaun McKernan 🐴 - Returns to the Dons

I'll be sad to see Smack go he always laid it all out on the table. Was never a superstar but you knew he was more than a role player when everything clicked he could be genuinely destructive on his own merit. Will always remember him as one of those blokes who really stepped it up and gave it...

This year is the biggest opportunity to get the flag I have seen

There was talk of starting to jam extra games into the schedule to get ahead of where the AFL wants to be. But with so mich uncertainty they are stuck going week to week almost and hopefully we will see things stretch out a little. Its just too bad most of these injuries we are getting have...

As sad and reluctant I am go agree he really does appear to be the next cab off the rank... i love huss hes been a victorian stalwart for a long time but he is under pressure. Perhaps Stoinis will miss out the next match for KP but if Huss doesn't perform we have someone ready to go. Stoi is has...

How far can the Renegades go?

Absolutely. As is Pattinson and Siddles ability to remain on the park and in doing so not be too fit that they achieve Australian selection. Rimm8ngton is good depth at this stage. They have Bravo which adds resiliency/flexibility to their attack

I'm struggling on at first 11 for the boxing day T20 derby. Wildly i might suggest: - Luke Wright - Rob Quiney - Kevin Pieterson - Glenn Maxwell - Marcus Stoinis - David Hussey - James Faulkner - Tom Triffit - Scott Boland - Adam Zampa - Michael Beer Or perhaps give Maxy or Stoinis the job...

So we have the late start on Boxing day. The local derby which i will be attending. How do we see our best 11 panning out Stars supporters? Despite losing Johnno Hastings which is a huge loss i think we can cover him. Especially as I will assume that the national selectors will overlook...

How far can the Renegades go?

Tremain has gone from strength to strength. He's their best pace bowler after pattinson and siddle.

    Pat Cummins returns.....

Exactly no way at all that he will be picked in the first XI Just means that the first three quicks will be Johnson, Starc and Hazelwood with next choice being Siddle. Which really, when you consider that we have just lost one of the best bowlers in the world having Starc/Hazelwood as the...

Game Day Round 7: Essendon v North Melbourne, 15/5/15, Etihad Stadium, 7.50PM AEST

I don't care what anyone says. We get ****ed over by the umpires more often then any other team.

We looked so spent energy wise for a number of weeks in the first half im hoping its all part of the master plan. Risky but will hopefully will pay off as we peak rather than peter out coming into finals. Just to echo what a number of others have said

    Retired # 2: Tom Bellchambers - Knocks Cam Mooney the **** out - 24/5

Thats just damn ridiculous. One of the best ruckmen in the league? If you want to play just one ruck Tbell ahead of Ryder anyway but I think they are both versatile enough for a 2 ruck system.

    Unpopular Cricket Opinions

Why stick to the tradition if we dont have the cattle? The batting order isnt concrete why behave as if its so? Need quick runs? Promote Watson to 3. The only thing holding you back is your mind. The aus team has shown they want one batsman attacking and one rotating the strike.

    George Bailey

Watson hasnt been dropped for form for a long time. Might do wonders for him to go back down to shield for a while, without needing to be injured to do so, and earn his way back in the side. At least theselectors have shown their preparedness to pick whomever thry believe is the man for the job...

Ryder and Bellchambers will need to wait till Hille gets back before any thoughts of entertaining a rest. Maybe rounds 16/17 for a week each giving Hille the bulldogs and GWS.

Game Day Round 8: Essendon v Brisbane, 18-5-13, Etihad Stadium, 1.45pm

Umpires gradually killing off high intensity contact by assuming high intensity = illegal. AFL rules panel clearly don't look at the effects of rules changes from a neurological conditioning perspective. Constantly making rules that outlaw contact but in turn create an incentive for the other...

I'm an OT (Occupational therapist) and work in community rehab in a large regional centre. I work with a lot of people young and old, returning from all kinds of hand, back, shoulder and arm injuries as well as brain injuries. Chronic pain another big one (of which the AFL population would...

Retired #18: Michael Hurley 🐻 - Staying on in a coaching and player welfare role! - 3/10

A defensive unit of Carlisle, Hooker and Hurley would have a spread of attributes that may be the best chance of covering the void left by Fletcher. Hurley the last piece of the puzzle with Carlisle the stopper, Hooker second or third tall depending on match up and going third man up relative to...

    Review V GWS (39-point victory - 30,143)

Which I don't mind either -- Let's see if TRB go that way now that Gumby has a number of games under his belt (as they didn't last time all of Crameri, Hurley, Gumbleton and Ryder were all available).
