I'll miss him too. I really hope - actually I'm fairly confident - that another AFL Club will appreciate what Nick can bring to them. He's tough, hardworking and uncompromising on the field and so personable, friendly and genuine off it. I wish Nick every success in all his future endeavours.
I LOVE hearing that - we were noisy at the Gabba last week too ;) It looked like a good number of Lions supporters were at the ground today although we didn't see the crowd figure. Teddy and I picked up some of the noise on the TV and were very impressed :thumbsu:
We're coming down for R12...
The worst golf tournament EVER!!! The Indian Open - some poor bloke called Suri was 2 shots clear, then BOOM!! QUADRUPLE BOGEY, now 2 shots behind the leader. Wanted to turn it off but couldn't lol.
I forgot to add that the team that beat us by 83 points last year beat us by only 5 points in our encounter this year, despite our former captain moving to the dark side! That was the loss that hurt me the most :(
I've watched all our games this year and last, and my view is rather at odds with yours.
In round 1 last year, we fell over the line against the Suns to win by 2 points after having a massive early lead. We then lost the next 6 games with the smallest losing margin of 27 pts and largest losing...

Hi all :) It's been a while since I've been on the board but, now the Aus Open is done (congrats Fed, bad luck Rafa), I'm impatiently waiting for football season to start. Ted and I were informed late last year that our section (53) was being closed to members and we were required to move after...
Michael Voss' coaching success rate overall was 39.91%. His final seasons at the helm however yielded 45.45% in 2012 and 42.11% in 2013 when he was sensationally 'flicked' after 19 games. All this was without performing an assistant's role which, according to those in the know, was the big...
I haven't been on the board in a while and my goodness, this is very entertaining!!
I see BBB has been suspended - shame really, I was enjoying him being shot down over and over and yet over again :p
Yeah, me too. I love his take no prisoners attitude on the field and he seems very well mannered off the field.
As we were in Melbourne, we went to watch the light run at Wesley College on Friday. I don't get to training in Brisbane as we live a fair way from the Gabba and at homes games our...
We have just arrived back from our annual 'footy immersion weekend' in Melbourne. When planning our trip I chose this weekend because it was Collingwood at the 'G' and we don't play there all that often - only twice this season.
I don't understand nor care what those stinking Magpies and...
I thought this was coming, the right decision for his health and wellbeing, but I don't think I've ever shed a tear before when watching a presser.
I'll miss watching the big, proud, number 16 prowling around the park but I'll always have wonderful memories to look back upon :)
All the best to...
Lewis Roberts-Thompson is the son of Barry Roberts-Thomson, who captained the Qld State Team in the 70s, is a member of QAFL Hall of Fame and also played for Sandringham.
Well I'm not your cousin but yeah, I was gutted as well :( Not only a more than handy type who will develop into a very good player, but a really pleasant young bloke as well.
I'm sorry but I beg to differ - as one who suffered an ACL rupture as a result of a deliberate trip at netball - it is a malicious action and not something I like to see from a Lions player.
That aside, I agree that he added some hardness and cohesion to the back line, and I was certainly happy...
Agree about Paparone - he is a unique talent and it's exciting to watch him improve each week. I really enjoyed his game tonight.
Also, I think there's a lot to like about Tom Cutler. I'm looking forward to watching him develop more throughout the season.
Really gutted to lose, but so proud...
