I'd guess that figure would just be propped up by the huge tv rights paid out to club that play in the Premiership. I assume that the results in a year from now would be dramatically different for Blackpool.
Whatever it was tonight that caused us to lose the game, it wasn't the umpiring. Some poor set shots at goal did hurt though. And numerous players are at fault here, not just one or two scapegoats
I'm pretty sure Hale was concussed in our forward line during the first quarter. I noticed that he stayed down for a bit and when helped up was absolutely all over the place, staggering very badly. Thankfully the ball had traveled to the other end of the field and no one had noticed that a...
Everything I've heard of Achilles injuries suggests that it is as painful an injury as you could hope to get, I think he just did a very good job at fighting against it. I'm not sure how he looked on tv be he seemed pretty distraught on his way off the ground.
Interesting thing I did was to have a quick check on the Facebook fan pages for each club and note how many mutual friends had 'liked' each club. Myself being based out in Manningham in the East/North East of the city observed that:
Only two people I knew had 'liked' the Bulldogs page, and much...
Great news for Izzy and GWS, the club provided some highlights of his match last week and he appeared to play a lot better as a forward than a defender and I'm sure that was again the case today.
Mind you, with his size and strength, he can really dominate his opponents, especially at this...
Shoey has been injured and has only recently started playing again for Box Hill. Hopefully towards the end of the year though he will come into the team and fill that that crucial hole in our line up.
Total rubbish. You've never played alongside anyone who went on to play AFL football did you? It's not the athleticism - it's a whole other level of ability. They'll get 80% of clearances on their own, turn opponents inside out, hit targets time and time again (You seem certain that my fellow...
Why am I not surprised to find out that this website is owned and run by News Limited? Not just full of ramblings about the AFL but just about everything left-of-crazy. It's not even worth paying attention to.

Gee, would it kill some of you to learn about the what actually happens through concussion or what?
Every game this weekend there seems to have been one serious injury from a clash after another, and to think there are people who think the modern game is 'soft'...
Anyone know where you can find footage of it?
Firstly, Gibbo played his best game for us to date. Outstanding, spoiling, intercepting, was as cool as a cucumber back there. Major positive.
Really poor kicking killed us. For anyone else who saw the kicking efficiency stats towards the end of the third quarter it was pretty clear to see why...
Winning your first game of football in 18 months - the post game pandemonium with your team mates is as good as it gets.
Having a friend/date get a bit drunk towards the end of the night and they begin to tell you they've always thought you had an attractive body, pretty eyes or whatever.
By no chance is it a 70/30 split, unless you are running on the assumption all people on the south/west of the divide are greatly impoverished.
It'd also have to be noted that in the NRL, as is with the A-League, sponsors feature more prominently on the centre of the guernsey and not off to...
Wait, are we still forgetting this the pre-season or something?!
Poorer skills are expected this time of year, with a lack of sharpness and a greater level of fatigue setting in amongst the players earlier and longer in games.
Players 10 years ago also looked pretty sloppy in early march in...
That $1m being mentioned is probably the worth of the contract being offered to Flores, not the transfer fee tabled towards Adelaide, although I could be wrong. If they do end up selling him, they will deserve every last penny they earn whilst doing so.
The signing of Mate is pretty pleasing, although, running on the assumption he will be played more as a winger, surely the club will sign an out-and-out striker by next season? Other than say, Eli Babalj, I can't think of anyone else at the club who would fill that role, but there should be...
What effect, if any, could the potential lockout in both the NBA and NFL have on the AFL gaining some extra exposure in the coming year? I know both of them have winter seasons so they wouldn't clash with the AFL, but still, could the AFL capitalize on this and satiate a sports hungry public?

Appears the end is nearing for North Queensland, with officials from the FFA set to call time of the struggling club.
I don't...
Apparently the Virgin Blue stuff up stranded quite a lot of fans, which may have taken a large portion of the traveling contingent out of the final figures.
Good on Campbell - he played well and with a lot of ferocity tonight. I can only wish him the best as he tries to make his mark on the Gold Coast and perhaps chase some success (just not too much!). And hey, if the likes of Puopolo can seize upon that spare spot in the team, it'll be like he...
I really have to dispute that figure. I've been to game with around 6,500 as the reported figure, but tonight was a lot more full. Either tonight didn't show the full numbers, or, as has been suggested before, past games have had their attendances artificially inflated.
Not a bad game all up...
