Haha, tongue firmly in cheek on that one. Just don't think player body type is the way to judge it, using Martin and Ellis as an example of Richmonds change in drafting. Most of your failed draft picks were stick figures that were always going to be up against it.
Yes. You're absolutely right!
Richmonds poor drafting had nothing to do with incompetence and everything to do with a lack of PED's.
Given your example, the fact that you have recently acquired players like Martin and Ellis who already have/will develop into rather muscular big bodied players...
If that was the case, why were they so keen to try and rush him back for finals? If what you were saying is true surely they wouldn't have bothered playing him this season.
I see you have a distaste for the eagles. Sure they get some umpire love in WA but crowds influence umpires and in WA unless they are playing Freo it's pretty one sided. They actually weren't bad away from home last season for the most part and I expect that they are going to improve from last...
For mine West Coast is the team to beat next season. Get back Le Cras, Nicoski and a fully fit Josh Kennedy. Have the best ruck combo in the league with a solid midfield underneath them to make the most of it, added Wellingham to it which I think helps. Also have a strong backline, no real...
Turbo is on the money, will be a fair bit of rotation going on in the squad. The way I see it Hawkins, Podsiadly, Vardy, West and McIntosh will all be in the rd 1 team provided they are fit. I don't expect to see much of Simpson unless there is an injury, would be surprised if he plays many more...
When the AFL decided games with the top teams beating up on expansion teams and other lowly clubs to the tune of 100+ pts was not as much as a money spinner as say Hawks v Collingwood twice.
In response to your claim that the AFL is out to get you, I think North Melbourne have copped the worst...
Doggies got screwed, probably not going to matter given they are not in contention but all the other lowly clubs that finished around them got soft draws. Will be another long year for them.
Pretty happy with the draw we ended up with, glad to see we aren't going to Perth twice this season.
Port Adelaide, GC, GWS, bye looks pretty handy in the middle of the year.
If there is no offer he will stay. Not certain exactly how many we will need to cut, but likely that Orren and Gillies will go from the senior list. Orren was recruited to fill the ruck gap, which now McIntosh will take and Gillies hasn't been demanding selection in the team and unlike last year...
They just bottomed out at the wrong time. McCartney is an astute coach (pretty sure Geelong was more upset about losing him than bomber) and will turn it around.
Who was chasing Gumbleton, freo and someone else, dogs? They are the only clubs I can see showing interest, not that the dogs need another skinny forward, they already have 2.
I think the recruitment of McIntosh means that unlike most of last season West will have a genuine side kick and I would think whoever isn't rucking would be resting forward. So if we play Pod, Hawkins and Vardy, the forward line will contain those 3 plus a resting ruck, add to that Kersten will...
