Who's up for signing a petition to have a more relaxing game day experience? By this, I mean - no use of the loud speakers throughout, between, before or after the match (other than the team songs), and maybe a VFL or TAC cup match as a curtain-raiser.
Wouldn't that be innovative? If North were...
I reckon North have had some of the best on-field leadership of all clubs for the last 20 years.
Sydney have also had strong leadership, but I can't think of another club that comes close to North over a long period of time.
I've decided to take a look at some of North Melbourne's history and have spent some time going through the old archives at the State Library. Here's a taste of what was going on in Hotham in 1871:
Do you think North Melbourne are same in this era and beyond? Will they survive through these troubled times?
Here are my thoughts:

Is North relevant?
I return to Melbourne after a year away, and all my footy friends echo the same sentiments: North are in...
After reading about the saga of the forthcoming AGM and the inappropriate use of the club's membership database, I was looking for someone to settle the debate and set out the facts. But alas, it didn't occur.
So I did.

I stumbled across an article from Clint Youlden, peronal trainer/sports scientist, who has been working with Daniel Harris over the past couple of months to give him the best chance of being drafted. (Here: http://footyalmanac.com.au/?p=6382.) It gives a pretty damning assessment of Haro's...
I would like to open a philosophical discussion:
Recently, regular posters on this board would have come across pictures of the draft whiteboard that was seen at the old Arden St facilities on Saturday (see here: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=656595). At request of the...
I thought I'd do a quick comparison of webvisits of realfooty and superfooty. I thought superfooty would have clawed some ground back, but I didn't expect it to be so stark! See full details here: http://wp.me/pm6Im-dL
I thought I'd see how Fairfax stacked up against the Herald-Sun in relation to web visits to their footy sections. The results are staggering! See post here: http://wp.me/pm6Im-dL
Frankly, after the terrible fact checking of The Age and NMFC's clear preferrence to give exclusives/leaks to the...
Eug reckons the AFL should look at capping football department spending. See post here for the full details:

I'm not so sure about it. It does raise the question, where's the incentive for clubs to make money (other than...
The next installment in my series explores Eug's thoughts on our President, James Brayshaw:

Enjoy.
Dashiel Lawrence kindly provided me with the article he wrote for the North & West Melbourne News about the Arden St redevelopment (for those that don't live in the area and get the newspaper delivered).:thumbsu: I've put it up here for anyone who is interested...
Eug was good enough to let me interview him earlier in the week:). Here's the first of a few instalments:

More to come.
... I think it' critical that Dean Laidley is given the respect he has earned.
While everyone here seems keen on getting rid of Laidley this year (I'd like to see how the boys respond this week first), whatever happens, Laidley deserves to be looked after by NMFC. If they decide to get rid of...
