As one of Jesse's few long term supporters here, I think it's the right move and wish him well.
Truth is, even though he had his best year in 2013, he hasn't produced enough over the years and it's time for a new challenge.
Great bloke and hope he does well wherever he goes.
I put the binoculars on Jesse again tonight...
Pretty good offensively, but the defensive running was average. Not Bloods standard. Won't play finals on tonight's performance.
Pikey back to his pre 2012 prelim form, unfortunately. Has been so good since then... Couldn't catch a cold in the...
Tonight Jesse proved that: a) he's much better than Walsh (who alarmingly has a contract for 2014), b) he's more than capable of playing at the top level, and c) Adelaide stuffed up in not trading for him and pick #23 for Tippett.
Jesse is particularly good on a big ground (in space) given his...
Why would someone (new to the AFL?) try to start a thread that 'merges' two completely different teams, that experienced completely different evolutions?
One relocated lock, stock and barrel; one was merged into an interstate team.
Different threads.
Adelaide did a dirty deal, and now it has come back to bite them.
Will all of the Crows fans trying to smear Sydney's reputation now please apologise?
The Swans are just trying to get a player that nominated them, at best possible price, as many other players/clubs do. We are not involved in...
Adelaide should definitely hold out for Grundy and a first or second rounder. Perhaps offer Grundy a huge pay rise to convince him?
We have LRT to go into backline. Jesse is a handy ruck depth player given Mummy is having more and more injury issues and we've delisted Seaby.
The only problem with Jesse was a lack of self belief.
All the ability in the world... but put simply, he doesn't DEMAND the ball.
This is even the case in full-ground circle work at training, where he hardly gets involved because he doesn't have the personality/confidence to use his voice...
Vindication has arrived in the best possible way - all of my concerns were addressed as pointed out in this thread and accordingly we won the flag :)
We certailnly failed in the last month of H&A (August) as I predicted we would without addressing the 3 key weaknesses, then things changed...
If you had read the first post of this thread rather than spouting your lack of knowledge re the Swans...
you'd be informed as to why we were "a bit below the best sides" in the last month and why we have now improved since then.
That was a long post and I haven't got time to read it all, but I did notice your interpretation of my comments is very contestable.
We'll agree to disagree.
Go Swans.
You've got an unhealthy obsession with my posts. My advice is to ignore them.
I put my theory on the line before the last 4 (pivotal) weeks of the H&A season and have been proven correct, even leaving one passenger out of it. Get over it.
Desperately misrepresenting me like that is...
I've just admitted I was right. Why would I backflip when the evidence is overwhelming?
How about we defer to an impartial source. 'Rate the players':

Mike Pyke - 3/10 Was well held by Rutten. Had eight disposals and...
Correct.
Grundy was protected on the SCG against the Hawks. Roughhead kicked 4 against him in the first half in Tassie. We covered Adelaide on the big ground yesterday with the mobility and strength of LRT and Ted. We'll need that again on the MCG. There is little chance of a slow and...
Just to bring this thread back to the issues...
On the evidence of the last month:
1. Tick (LRT has had little or no impact as a forward in the last month against the big teams, and was even subbed off. Yesterday returned to former glory as a key defender, blanketing Tippett)
2. Tick (Pyke is...
So the point of the thread is that when you have these three problems, as identified in the first post, you won't get over the line against the best teams. Grundy's suspension re-structured the team, and we won. We would have beaten Coll and Haw if we had the same structure as yesterday. It...
This could be the Swans back in premiership contention, with LRT moving into a role he is useful in, and the spud out for 2-3 weeks.
9 or 19 can easily play the easy-stats outrider role that Grundy has been gifted, and they're much more reliable by foot.
Fingers crossed for tonight.
Another club will definitely pick Jessie up.
He is the ideal 2nd ruckman with the sub rule. Obviously he doesn't fit the bloods culture because they're playing a 2nd ruckman who does nothing but ruck taps (and crude tackles) ahead of him.
It's not just that Grundy goes to ground quicker than an Autumn leaf in a one-on-one, it's that he sits there like a nappied baby sulking... Get up and chase you trog - or at least attempt to stand on the mark!
WTF is Longmire looking at?
If this guy gets suspended and LRT moved back to his...
I started a thread a week or so ago explaining the 3 reasons why the Swans would not win by the cup. It was shut down prematurely by a Swans mod who obviously didn't like it, so would appreciate any thoughts here:
Coach Longmire has key elements of the structure wrong.
1. LRT is being played...
Cloke is a nobody in Sydney.
I was at foreign car stadium on saturday and the crowd was dominated by young families. A very good sign.
They will not double their crown next year but they will over the next 3 years as these young kids tell their mates about this great game.
Collingwood under Malthouse built themselves up for Sydney - almost like any other team. Mick is a big fan of the Swans. He was almost a lone voice of respect for the 'ugly' style under Roos because he knew it stood up in GFs.
Bottom line is Collingwood pressure Sydney around the ball like no...
