I mean, he's managed 1 goal per game for the season so far, so not exactly setting the world on fire.
Feel he'd be far more valuable in defence initially. Not like he can't be swung forward in games.
Why doesn't he play back then?
I've seen mentioned around the traps that he doesn't want to play back and told the coach he wants to play as a forward.
Sounds pretty selfish to me, if true.
If Beveridge had a brain, he'd play Naughton in the backline.
He's a far better player down there but they're just letting him play forward because that's where he prefers to play.
Not exactly a team-oriented attitude...
It's definitely overheated. Bulldogs one of the clubs to get lucky with academy/FS picks being talls recently. Probably have the same thing in a few years also, as there's simply so many mids in the first round the past few drafts and this one coming looks the same.
Comben looks to be trialed down back, if the practice games are anything to go by.
North should definitely look to trade out their first for an established key forward. Not sure the club would have much appeal to JUH though, especially if, say, Sydney are also sniffing about.
More likely to...
Well, you can either discuss it, or leave the thread.
A number of Bulldogs posters throwing endless potshots at the club a poster supporters is straight up pathetic.
It happens in every thread discussing the Bulldogs on the D&T board. It's like some weird defensive mechanism.
I guess it's just the usual posters in every thread, taking pot shots at supporters of other clubs for daring to propose trade scenarios in in a thread on a board where the whole discussion is about trading.
WCE need pure mids.
If the past 20 years have taught us anything, a dominant ruckman will only get you so far.
Absolutely not worth what WCE would've have to give up, considering it'd have cost us pick 2 at least, meaning we miss out on Ginbey and Hewett, just to begin with.
I'm not sure how...
A lot of good players picked up later in the draft. The first 1-9 were rather underwhelming for various reasons(injuries, application, etc), outside of Cotchin.
Wasted?
I presume you mean Chris Masten?
WCE wanted to trade with Richmond, as they wanted pick 2 to ensure they got Cotchin. Obviously didn't happen.
You'd have to go all the way to pick #10(Dangerfield) to find the next player who had a better career than Masten and he would've been a huge...
Hard to say given the shit-sandwich that's been served up in regards to injuries these past 2 seasons, so we haven't been able to see any significant to the game plan, as he said they wanted to do.
The recruiting's definitely changed to look for players who are bigger, faster and stronger in...
Because with how compromised the draft is next year, that F1 will push out to around pick 20, which is apparently a trash range.
Also, split it for what exactly? Which players?
We've already drafted for a range of positions, we've gone through this before.
The biggest issue is in the middle...
Because those were the 2 selected at those picks. Even if we ended up with Curtin/Tholstrup, it doesn't do much to address our inability to win contested ball. Reid does.
Clearly the club rates Reid significantly higher than Curtin, which is why all offers were knocked back.
Every club needs...
Because as we've said, the offers were shite, especially going by your own criteria of not much chop outside the top 20.
Imagine we gave up Reid for Windsor(a winger who solves none of our midfield issues) and Tholstrup(a position we have multiple players for)?
There's zero logic to do that...
