The Chris Scott School of Coaching!!!
Trainer: Tommy Hawkins has pulled a hammy at training
CS: Thats ok we have BrandonParfitt to fill that void
Trainer: Rhys Stanley Is Also Injured
CS: Thats ok we have Mark O’Connor to fill that void
Yeah agree we need to give him a look.
I'm kind of using tackles as a metric for defensive running which is maybe a little dicey. For a minimum afl trait there's enough variation in players defensive work that I think it's worth considering but a bit of a digression
I am probably different to others in that I don't view tackling as an AFL attribute but rather a football staple like kicking and handballing and spoiling. Minimum requirement skills to play the sport at any level (unless you're a big bloke too slow to tackle). It's listed as Parfitt's prime...
As much as I'm sad to say it, over Brandon, Atkins is the King of Terriers, completely reliable with a more defensive skill set. I've been out of the loop a bit lately, but know they will be reassured at this early stage. Those posters forecasting the end of Parf are a bit premature, without...
I haven't advocated anything unreasonable though I wouldn't have thought.
Just want him in the VFL. I think he's a shit footballer.
If it were Wylie Buzza or Tom Ruggles having this said about them no one would bat an eyelid.
Just calling a spade a spade. Brandon is probably a wonderful guy, he...
Understand I do.
I just don't agree with or buy the reasoning being given on here for it. Think it's a load of pish tbh.
Let's look at when it worked. 2022.
Guthrie - 25 from 70%
Duncan - 23 from 84% (HBF)
Dangerfield - 22 from 75%
Selwood - 21 from 72%
Tuohy - 21 from 87% (HBF/Wing)
Smith -...
I think the plan will be similar to Carlton. Let Butters and JHF get to the ball first but pressure the hell out of them (Parfitt, MOC, Atkins), then win the contest on the outside (Holmes, Duncan, Blics) and back in our defenders to intercept - their forwards are out of form.
Plus Soldo &...
With respect, this is bizarre.
Parfitt has been great this year.
Dalhaus hardly got a game in 22, and we won the flag. When he was done, he was done.
A bit like Bews this year, sadly for me.
There's a few Parfitt haters on board, they just can't wait for him to fail and expect perfection. Stevie J's article praised Brandon as this years most improved, especially as he was down with injury, and that's what people forget. Anyway, the pen pushers can bag him all they like, so far he...
RALPHY’S 30 FREE AGENTS TO WATCH
CAMERON ZURHAAR (NORTH MELBOURNE)
His manager has made it clear that Zurhaar has a decision to make. His teammates want him to stay, but he is the definition of noncommittal. Bounced back with three goals against Adelaide after four goals in his first five games...
I’m not grabbing Isaac cumming as a half back flanker.. although he’s good to have on the list for that..
I’m getting him to chuck him into the centre.
Reckon he has class mid in him.. just doesnt get the opportunity at GWS due to them having 3 of the comps best mids..
The last section is crucial
Retaining a poor quality player that's proven to not be AFL standard is worse than taking a new draftee. We've been far too kind on some of the depth and fringe players we've had. If there are any question marks whatsoever on a fringe player, it's a one year contract...
That's a great, long post.
My only immediate observation is you probably don't be try and get Yeo because Laird and Crouch are slowing down, as Yeo probably ends before either of them.
That being said, I'd still probably do it.
...go after multiple free agents, so in addition to securing Cumming as priority 1A, have a crack at all of Oli Florent, Will Hayward, BrandonParfitt and Elliott Yeo (in that order).
Cumming to replace Smith / Milera at half back, AND Florent to replace Jones / Sholl on a wing would be a huge...
...Jack Henry: C
Oliver Dempsey: C
Sam De Koning: C-
A great young player but unable to contain Harry McKay. Just the five touches.
BrandonParfitt: C-
Had 17 touches, under 60 percent.
Mark O’Connor: D
Just the six touches.
Tom Atkins: N/A
Subbed into the game in the third term, didn't...
If we’ve used our assistance quota, perhaps a first rounder for Zurhaar might be a way to slyly assist the rebuild without seeming too overt with more priority picks.
...RJH - delist.
I've got no idea who is a rookie and who is primary listed anymore but that would leave us with 8 list spots.
Pick up BrandonParfitt and Isaac Cumming or Blake Hardwick Free Agents.
Take 4 picks to the ND, 1 to the rookie draft then take the best available delisted free...
