Player Watch #14 Callum Mills (c)

Papley and Amartey have done time with Bill Knowles who is an industry leader (with a focus on looks like body movement/ knowledge, core activation, flexibility and all round body strength). I have very high hopes on them, Mcdonald and Edwards. He also would cost an arm and a leg (and possibly...

Player Watch #14 Callum Mills (c)

It's a fantasy that Callum will get anywhere near the mids. He's a half-back. If we want him on the field. First pre-season contact drill. Got tackled, and did a hammy.. Close watch now on Tom Papley, Joel Amartey and JMac.

If Cunningham is fit I reckon he stays in the squad. And as much as people here won't like it, going by late season form both Lloyd and Rampe will stay in or be close to the 23 (especially Lloyd). I think it's up to other players to displace them from the side. Lastly no sub next year, just a...

Id be shocked if Pou was ready, and I'm a big fan. From your list I would replace Pou with Bice, and Bice's role is taken by Serong.

Analysis 2026 - The Way Forward

What I do like with Curnow is he'll take the oppos best defender, which allows Joel to be the second man up and McDonald to get up the ground more. Amartey is a fairly productive goalkicker when fit, but there's justified questions on is he good enough to be the number 1 man. Him out of the...

    List Mgmt. 2025 Draft & Trade Thread - Picks 31, 32, 42, 60 and 71

If the ruck rules are similar to this year, then the ball ups are just a wrestle anyway, not the old fashion run and jump which use to expose rucks to leg injuries (PCLs in particular). The arm at full extension, theoretically can lead to shoulder injuries but in practice, doesn't seem to...

I used to be Amartey > McLean in the ruck before injuries meant the latter got a better run/became more favoured. And with Amartey's injuries still continuing. I'd want to see if Logan and Joel can be durable, with the types of injuries they've had, before having to potentially do more than a...

Player Watch #35 Charlie Curnow - Welcome to Sydney

I really hope we have a double pronged KPF game plan. If Amartey stays fit and keeps developing, he can be a star in his own right. And greater unpredictability will help Curnow have more impact when the ball comes his way.

Player Watch #35 Charlie Curnow - Welcome to Sydney

Joel's game of 9 goals had like 6 tackles as well. Averages over 2 per game. Had around 5 with 5+ tackles

Au revoir, Mason cox shrinks into obscurity. Flog of the decade.

With Zac Jones also delisted yesterday who is now the worst player in the comp? James Worpel or Joel Amartey?

Player Watch #35 Charlie Curnow - Welcome to Sydney

McDonald I feel was misdiagnosed. I include the conditioning team as what they do, plays a big part in injury prevention and it's no coincidence that with a new guy in charge, our injury rate went up. Hats off though getting Ben Forster from Bne to do Errol's ankle. He is a genius foot and ankle...

Me too as it will be an absolute disaster. Just like the Tommy to FF. That really worked lol. He is a stubborn bugger. Also I think Healy gets into their ear. He was the one who first started the Logan to Key Back in 2024. He started it with Amartey and then realised that would be a terrible...

He's played there 6 times for 11 goals. Might be a bit about our team but he's well under career average there.

Universal Love Official Sydney Swans Death Ride Thread 2026-2027

I'm interested in the shape and size of the ground up there and whether that is going to take away (or reduce) his weapons. Also, team dynamics. This is Joel Amartey on 1st day of pre-season.

Analysis 2026 - The Way Forward

Was it JMac? I thought it was Edwards, McDonald, Papley, Amartey? They should all be ready for the first day of preseason. None of the end of season reports sounded like they would be missing preseason, let alone any part of the regular season

Easily and it's not close. Look Joel has had some injury issues, but he won't be the first forward next year takes pressure off him. McLean is so slow, he should be depth next year, and I'm fine keeping as depth, not as if Joel, Logan are that durable yet.

John Longmire had the right idea with the 3-tall forward set up but with injuries and whatever reason, it didn't quite work out for Horse. A set up featuring Curnow, Amartey and McDonald and the small forwards of Papley, Dattoli and Rosas has me quite excited for next season. This set up finally...
