Do you realise that the Magpies have won 36 premierships and Sturt haven't won one for 25 years, collecting an amazing 8 consecutive wooden spoons (1989-1996) along the way?
There's pictures of Tony Brown and Ryan O'Connor in their lace up guernseys in my March edition Magpie News, so no doubt Port will still be wearing them in 2001...

It's all part of their club culture - they were formed from the merger of the two losing-est clubs of the last 40 years.
How about their pissweak capitulation against Port in the 1994 Grand Final? 6 goals up in the first quarter and ended up losing by 6 goals! Absolutely blasted off Footy...
I'm optimistic. Since 1988 the Maggies have never gone more than one year without winning the flag! We've lost a few more veterans again this year, but picked up AFL experienced players in O'Connor and Brown. And POOLEY will be magnificent as captain (if the umpires give a fair go).
Has anyone heard if Richard Ambrose will return to Port? He won the Sandover Medal in WA last year and there's been some speculation about him going back to SA.
With Ambrose, plus Ryan O'Connor and the return of Pooley from injury, that would go some way to cover the loss of experienced...
