Did you forget the umpiring the last time we played you guys at Etihad? Finals were on the line for us too. We still got smashed by the umps that night. We're the last team to get the run of the umps.
We fielded a VFL standard team because we had too many injuries. I think we barely even had enough players to choose from that game.
Funnily enough, Ross Lyon was coach of St Kilda at the time. So could he return the favour? ;)
Well we have the second best (and most efficient) forwardline this season for a reason. It's not your defence that won't allow it. It's probably your midfield if they get well on top.
Which is why I said that Adelaide could score 140+.
We can't make it a shootout because we'll probably lose that. We're likely going to bring in Craig Bird for that exact reason. Our midfield need to run both ways for us to win the game instead of making it a fast paced shootout.
At Etihad, our scoring shots with the current forward set up (so not including any game before round 8):
19.11 - 125 vs West Coast
19.17 - 131 vs Port Adelaide
11.16 - 82 vs Brisbane
17.16 - 118 vs St Kilda
20.12 - 132 vs North Melbourne
13.19 - 97 vs Bulldogs
We tend to score heavily at...
The first game after everyone found about the drug saga was against Adelaide in 2013:
Round 1 - AAMI Stadium
Adelaide 11.16 - 82
Essendon 18.9 - 117
It was a good game.
But yeah that one was the Hird being sacked game. Horrible game
Josh Green will probably get his usual 2-4 shots at goal (probably 1.3 or 2.2), but that's about it. Fantasia doesn't only provide goals, but he provides manic forward pressure, is a great set shot and rotates through the midfield at times to give us some speed. Huge loss that Green will...
I would've said "turn on the sprinkles EFC and open the roof" to keep you guys from thrashing us, but seeing what you did to Port, Freo and Bulldogs in the wet, I'm taking that back.
Maybe we should station fans all around the ground to really emulate the windy Tassie weather ;)
Don't ask me how I got to this thread, but I'll let you in on something. Don't tell anyone
*Looks around*
We smashed West Coast and Geelong too (well we were up 40 point at 3/4 time)
Shhhhh
The 19th man can be your downfall tonight. West Coast found that out the hard way.
The boos will definitely fire the boys up. It'll make a run-of-the-mill home and away game into a cut throat must-win finals like game for the boys. Boo at your own peril Crows fans because what's coming after...
Be honest. What will you guys do if you lose?
Hawthorn was our last opposition melts, so it's getting a bit dry (drought likely to continue tonight for us unfortunately).
Here are my melts for tonight.
HOW WAS THAT DELIBERATE? ADELAIDE'S 19TH MAN BOG SO FAR
WHO IS ON BETTS! TF. [Insert name...
Hey Crows,
Wanna know something depressing?
We played in a grand final more recently than you! And we haven't even won a final since 2004 XD
(Let me have this. We have nothing else other than 1993 on you guys).
That and Saturday night XD
My thoughts are that Zaharakis will be linked to Adelaide's....
demise on Saturday night! Boom
In all seriousness, I don't think he'll leave Essendon, especially with the salary cap to increase. He is just very Essendon from the get go. Stayed through the saga, so I can't see...
But the real question is, did you have to defend brave ball movement like ours so far?
And I'm not talking about them silly Giants that were too scared in front of a big crowd. That's coward ball movement. Or them Port nuffies that are too busy searching for a fight. That's precious ball...
Though it really matters little for the upcoming game, I do find stats pretty interesting, so I had a look at our ladder positions every year that we played Adelaide in Adelaide considering that Adelaide and Essendon games are very lopsided in favour of the home side.
Bolded years are Essendon...
Haha yeah I can tell. We've been fairly rubbish plus the saga stuff so no surprises that some opt out on our games.
I admit that I don't know Adelaide's list as well as some other clubs so I can't really comment too much on it. For example, I have no idea what no JJ and McGov means for your...
Yeah he has been a real find for us. One of my favourite players. He worked very hard to be where he is. Every time he gets the ball, we look like hitting the scoreboard. Pretty underrated in the wider community.
That's because we beat Carlton a lot :P
You really underestimate how crap we are in the rain. We lost to Melbourne in the rain in 2012 while we were 8-1 and they were 0-9.
We're too inconsistent to string a couple of games in a row so Carlton is the one we usually win. That and we have been...
Not to criticise too much on an opposition board, but that's probably the least knowledge that I've seen about Essendon's list in a while.
Hooker hasn't played defence in a year and a half and Merrett is probably behind Heppell as our best player. He is damaging with his vision, quick thinking...
