That's a bit harsh....you have holes in your list, but you have recruited for them, the depth will take time. Your core midfield will be the best in the comp in a couple of years (you have little in terms of midfield depth, but that can change quickly).
Richmond should be a 7-10 side this...
Re: Round 1 vs Carlton Thursday March 29th 7.45pm
Whichever combination we go with those are the 3 talls we have....possibly Watson but I don't see it myself. Not ideal, but that's the hand we're dealt at the moment.
The same could be said for our smalls, I don't think Richmond has anyone to...
Re: Round 1 vs Carlton Thursday March 29th 7.45pm
Jamison is definitely not playing.
I think it will end up.
Henderson - Riewoldt
Bower - Vickery
Thornton - Miller
I think we have the midfield edge, not so much at the top end but the guys that can rotate through.
Should be a ripper game.
I was surprised, wasn't as many Richmond supporters as I expected. May not be the biggest but have to be up there with the most passionate.
Was sitting in front of the grog squad yesterday, thought they were fantastic. Bring real atmosphere to the game that is truly unique amongst all of the...
Re: Richmond vs Carlton
Riewoldt killed us that game.
Our backline is very undermanned and even if we can get Bower and Duigan into the side we lack continuity, if you're ever going to beat us this is it.
Would be a massive win for the Tigers and a prospective finals appearance.
Can't help but to be so impressed with Martin. Going to be a star, you were smashed today, but the side you had out there was very raw.
You'll be right, hopefully Cousins plays on I think he really helps out your inexperienced midfield.
I disagree with that and if it is it's not by much, our forward line pressure was terrific for the first 5 or so games of 2009 and dropped off a bit after that. Fev was pretty good in this aspect so will be interesting to see how we go in this area next season.
and IMO our midfield pressure is...
And yet, before the final we'd beaten them 3 times in a row.
Jamison has held Bradshaw goalless or to 1 goal the last 3 times he's played on him.
So yeah, I think your Tiger friend was a bit harsh in rubbishing our backline on the back of that performance when our two premier defenders were...
We were missing our full back, centre half back and Bower played the game out injured.... I can't think of many sides that would be able to hold them off if that happened.
Of course the loss hurt, absolotely gutted last night.
I got over it pretty quickly. Question is, why does this matter so much to you Richmond supporters? Anything to do with your club being a basket case? This was the year you would take the AFL by storm and what happened?
Round 1 we...
Walker has been out all year.
Jamison missed games
Hadley dropped
Cloke dropped
Carrazzo injured
Sorry mate, Terry is to blame for the situation you're in. Blaming injuries on players that are laughable largely to call key players (or have been dropped for form) is a poor excuse.
Essendon and...
No, There's a big chance that Richmond will be 0-3 or 1-2 by the end of round 3. Don't forget a couple of years back North were 0-3 and ended up making finals.
Last year we were 0-3 and could have made finals.
I thought he played ok last night. He was just about your only player who had the balls to take us on.
He directly set up one of your goals in the third or fourth by backing himself. He looks very good laterally with good evasive skills and could be a good outside mid.
The only critical aspect...
Good call :thumbsu:
Anyway guys, good luck for the rest of the season. It can't possibly get any worse than that, hopefully Polo is selected next week.
Shattering for Cousins also :(
I was looking beyond that, as far as I know he hasn't been in favour with Terry in the past. New year, new leaf who knows? I haven't heard anything in a while, so thought maybe you guys might know.
If he gets consistent senior games he could be a very handy player.
Fev only kicked 4 goals last time we played (1 which was passed to him 1 metre out)...and supposedly Moore? beat him. So there goes that logic.
We may not have any players that can kick a bag besides Fev...but Betts, Fisher, Cloke, Houlihan, Walker are all capable of kicking multiple goals...
That's fair enough...I can understand that.
How about this scenario. You guys manage to finish top 4, then go out in straight sets in the finals series. Where does that leave Terry?
So what do you mean by decent showing in an elimination final? I would have thought making the finals would see him keep his job.
What's this got to do with Carlton
Whilst I don't think he'll have a stellar year, I think Tambling will become a consistent contributor.
For me, he goes missing a bit too much (you guys would watch him more than me anyway) but from an outsider you could definitely see his progress from beginning to end of last season. What...
