I'd rather avoid those "B Grade" types & draft those player types in ourselves, might even get better quality players that way. As we saw in '12-'16 those types only get u so far.

Also wreaks of a local player wanting a story to "tell the boys down at the local" & can see his chance when an ex AFL player is playing for the opposition. As the yrs go on the story has more & more Mayo applied to it each time it's brought up.

Ideally we have those types among our youth already on our list. Silver lining with our injury list is we get to trial these kids out which will give us our priority list going fwd.

Before this round began, we were 12th for qtr's won for the yr, this despite being on our knee's injury wise. We'll be right & more consistent with some more experience in the side. The kids are doing fine, just lack the consistency the older blokes have.

Once we get some players back that will be an option. ATM we have 6 snr listed guys in the VFL & only 2 of them look like they have the form to play snr's, Sonz (in the middle thx) & K.Smith is coming along nicely.

He doesn't have the luxury of dropping anyone atm, we can barely put a side on the park as it is.

There are always pick swaps involved to even up the pts. it'll get done.

If the $$$ offers are in the $85ok area i'd be asking for that in return. They are the ones putting a high price on him if those reported figures are accurate.

Doubt we'd go for Phillips anyway, can't get a game at Norf, plus we have TT/JH & a few kids coming through plus whoever we draft this yr.

That would have been my viewpoint after the 1st time. he's since gone & done the same thing again. No Dickhead policy at Tigerland. I agree with the above comment about it being a hard sell to the members, particularly our Female Members, who i don't think will be too thrilled with the idea.

What's in it for us to do a 1 yr deal with Baker? We can get better in a trade, we can't rely on FA compo. It'll either be a trade this yr or a "Tiger for life" deal.

I highly doubt Baker would want to do that either. they really should just get rid of the PSD, DFA takes care of what that used to achieve. it's same thing but the player gets to choose where he goes.

crows are one of the Clubs looking for pts so that could be a potential deal. straight swap would be too simple for the way trades are done these days (to even up pts) there's always junk picks being swapped.
