If you're going to kick to a contest the wing is the smartest way to go because if you lose the contest in the middle chances are you will get hurt the other way and fast. If you lose the contest on the wings the opposition have not got as much space to work in and often you can force a throw in...
He is often the #1 guy tagged. He got close to 30 possessions on Ling last week. He is quicker than you think though, but his skills have been poor this year.
Davis is more a midfielder than a forward now and Thomas will play a role further up the ground too. Most likely playing on someone...
They mentioned it in some news report, I think from the Age the day after the match down the bottom it said:
INJURIES
COLL: Dick (knee), Brown (knee)
Obviously they got their twins wrong. Bad luck to Mitch. Was looking forward to the battle of the twins.
I don't think the ground had that...
Thanks for the updates guys.
Either way our outs are going to hurt as more our depth isn't as good as yours, not even a sprinkling of experience makes it even harder.
Probably would have beaten us with a solid side in anyway.
Davis, Rusling, Didak, Thomas, Pendlebury, Wakelin, Prestigiacomo, O'Brien, Burns, Lockyer, Cloke etc without them the score means little and I just hope our young players showed a bit and will benefit from the run.
Brown never played on Russel Robertson by the way that was Cox. The good thing about Brown is that he is not a Prestigiacomo style backman, he gets about 15 possessions a game so certainly can find the ball and rebound. He hasn't been dominating, but for a 1st year player against the gorillas of...
Because they are trying to do what's best for their club. Petty schoolyard squabbles shouldn't come in to this, in the real world you have to deal with people you don't like.
I personally wouldn't trade Pendlebury for Judd alone let alone with a top 5 pick.
I'm not throwing up any possible trades, but would you be interested if Maxwell was thrown in? How do you guys rate him?
BTW I'd definitely be prepared to put Rusling on the table.
This is a stupid trade for West Coast. They get an undersized target forward, a solid young key backman and pick 4 for their best midfielder and arguably their most important key forward.
I love Didak, but personally I would definately give Didak + our 1st rounder for Judd. I'd even throw Rusling in the deal, maybe with or without an extra sweetener (an average player or late pick/exchange of picks).
I hate Robert Walls with a passion.
I wish he was on a talk back show, I'd slip in some sly subtle references to being evil like for example forcing a player to get in the ring and get belted by everyone on the list. Stretton was his name right?
As much as I was whinging about the umpiring on the Collingwood board, about it being one sided and everything you thoroughly deserve your win, the umpiring wasn't your fault.
I think if a team is going to be caught being complacent it won't be the magpies it will be the eagles. MM made it known to the players the game against Kangaroos was not acceptable and from the articles coming out the players seem to reverberate this.
Conversely West Coast will be on a high...
Re: Congrats
Congratulations. Very few would argue that you weren't the best team in the AFL this year, and noone would argue that you didn't deserve it.
I admit I haven't watch too much of the Eagles, but compared to last year your 2nd tier midfielders may have fallen off, especially in the past month. The likes of Braun, Fletcher (used to be 1st tier), Embley, Stenglein, Banfield aren't up to the level they were last year. If Judd, Kerr and...
McKinley better play soon if he's going to kick those 30+ goals he was a certaintity to kick according to some WCE supporter(s) on the draft and trading board a while ago ;)
