Nah, end of second round most likely unfortunately. He's worth far more as we all know it, but there's no way known that the AFL would give us a top ten pick as compensation. They seem to screw us at every opportunity they can and this is an easy one for them to do so again.
This might sound crazy but I'd be happy to offer JUH 10 million over 6-7 years front ended. That would turn his head surely. The cap will only get much bigger over that period so by front ending say 4-5 million over the first two years this could work as I really don't want us to offer much for...
I like Ward but he hasn't excited me too much this pre-season. At this stage I'd rather like to see Hust and the two Cmac's rolling through there alongside Newk, Worps, Maginness and Nash this week. It's going to be good competition for spots in the emerging midfield this year especially after...
You could probably add Day into that mix;) I can't see Worps as part of our future unfortunately. Good player, but can't dispose of it as well as the others and we can't carry too many of these guys as we'll lack dash in that mix. Ward looks like he could slide in there as well quite comfortably.
Serong looks strong. Look at those legs. If only he was a little taller, but I'm not putting that limitation on him. He can play and is an exciting watch for me this year.
I'm not. It could work but it would be brave of Sam to do so. He seriously has all the attributes to be a gun key defender with his natural competitive instincts and size. He learns quicky too!
Interesting. With our glut of mid field options and he being a natural footballer it could work. He could be a revelation with his ball winning capabilities, size and competitiveness.
Yeah it's a real worry. I can see some big forwards getting a hold of this year which will hold us back. I was already worried before our biggest defender went down.
I saw him play a huge game against Carlton last year when he was deep down back back at my end of the ground. He filled me with confidence that day that he can make it big time. He looked confident and assured but hasn't taken the next step as I expected for some reason disappointingly ...
I'm really not happy with how the Hawks go about their membership renewal process. I have set up direct debit for automatic renewal and this year my credit card had expired so I received an email stating so. Cool. However, I live in the country and can only get to a couple of games a year so I...
That's why we drafted Will. I have high hopes that he's our CHB for the future. We now need Blanck to come on as a player who can stand the Gorilla's otherwise that's the area that we must address next alongside another medim/tall forward.
Thanks for the insight, it's very informative for a bloke who knows very little about next years crop. I'm very interested in who will be available to us in the early stages of the draft next year after our here we go again tough draw has almost ensured that. We'll add another nice piece to our...
Shanahan if he grows a little more based on his description is my man. I doubt we would take a key defender in the top 5 which where we'll probably pick from. He sounds good though but the Pies second rounder won't get him unfortunately at this stage. It will be hard to pass on one of the gun...
I like this pick a lot. Size at 187cm with awesome speed and agility just to start. He looks like he reads the play really well with a real competitive edge about him. Can use it by foot too by the looks of things. Didn't see this happening but very pleased indeed. I have a good feeling that...
So what he's saying is that he has NFI with Hawthorn. Are they playing tricks by having Watson at the club 6 times for interviews? Bring out the popcorn tomorrow night. I can't help but feel that we're not going to be vanilla for some reason.
If they want the Wiz that badly I'll take whatever their throwing out. I'll be surprised if they couldn't get him with their current pick 6. Why they want 4 is more likely for Curtin.
Nah that's just their justification for doing us over again whether we're successful or not on the field they just keep bending us over for some reason.
I don't mind that at all. Getting Caddy instead of say Wilson would be a big thumbs up for me with the forward half in more need of attention than midfield. Wilson can certainly play though and wouldn't complain too much if we took him in this scenario. I like the idea of two big key defenders...
He won't stick too many tackles at AFL level watching those highlights and his desire to chase and tackle is just average for a small forward. He's no Kossie Pickett if that's the type we're looking for and that's why we take Curtin the classy tall we desperately need. The Wiz certainly knows...
And now listed at 197cm. That's a great sized defender with athleticism in a desperate area of need. He or Watson. Flip of a coin for me. We'll get one of them for sure. Happy Days!
He's almost the forgotten man for me. If he can come on and become the player we all hoped for when drafted then that will be an added bonus. I still have hope that it will click for him as he can certainly play.
