Surely you're making this comment in jest! This happens in many comps at all levels across the country, including the AFL. Why would the rules change for 1 competition? Swings and roundabouts...

Carrara play Sandgate this weekend, final trial for both teams before the real stuff so you would think both sides would be close to full strength.....be an interesting watch to get an idea of the difference in comps.

Absolutely cracking finals series coming up in this comp! Very open with anyone of the top 4 on their day good enough to win the flag.

It's not a great situation but for whatever reason (and surely they have to state why) the AFLQ aren't going to extend the season. The top 4 teams in this comp are clearly the best 4 teams and there are teams in positions 5-8 that are purely there because of the cancellation of the last two...

If that is the case then where does it go from here? 🤔

Bit of chat, including on the div 1 forum on here that the Hornets are struggling for numbers in QFA and may look to enter the Friday night comp.....would be surprised though...

Good to see the league sticking with the Div 3 / Div 4 as opposed to North South. Looking at up to 20 Friday Night sides across the two divisions!

So with Kenmore not going into Div 1 and talk of Aspley dropping back potentially to even Fri nights would that mean a 6 team div 1? Surely if that is the case it would trigger a hasty re alignment of Div 1 and Div 2 North / South to even up the comps?

Can't see any other scenario other then the comp being canned if the NSW sides are done for the year? Unless the QLD sides just play in a Round Robin to keep giving them a run? Only 4 rounds left isn't there?

The corresponding effects are the worry. Being that they went to Southbank it could escalate in any area pretty quickly. You would think community sport would be one of the first things to have the brakes put on if cases start to rise....

Any word on whether AFLQ will sanction trial games for this weekend? Reckon there would be a few clubs keen for a hit out prior to round 1......

They are talking restrictions in some form until September. I wouldn't think community footy will get the go ahead until all restrictions are eased. Start planning for 2021!

I heard a whisper that the reserves coach that they appointed has had step down as he is moving to WA. Can you confirm? Would be a set back if true as from all reports he is a good operator....

No Doubt.....which is why guys being paid some of the dollars floating around to play in div 2 and div 3 footy is laughable......and in most cases unsustainable

If the AFLQ don't enforce the rules as they are, then they may as well do away with the promotion/relegation system completely which would be an absolute shame. All the clubs knew what the deal was going into the season!

Yeah......not sure any media or laywer is going to be too concerned about what is going on in lower division AFLQ. QAFL barely get any media in QLD.....the league will do as they please, as the always have.

Its not an ideal situation, however every club was aware of the rules at the start of the season. Its either a straight relegation/promotion or its not.....if changes are made each year adhoc then they may as well scrap the system all together.....

Smith played a grade, Dickson has played more reserves than seniors, fields has played 1 game of a grade all year and Lee has been in and out.....try again champ!

No suprise youve come up with another uneducated, dumb post! Go through the list of reserves players for Redcliffe today mate, not one of them dropped down to qualify. Few "reserves" players in the a grade today due to alot of injury and unavailability. Not sure what your issue with Redcliffe...

Obviously spending a bit too much time behind your keyboard to get a clue about whats happens at an actual football club? Redcliffe Seniors have been more than competitive this year and will still have a part to play yet this season.
