Further to the question above, I remember going to Subi Ocal in the last year or two that the Lions played there. Was weird being in a 43,000 seat stadium with roughly 1,000 people in attendance. Not commercial to bother opening much of the catering and any more than one of the stands etc...
Was never any doubt about that SonOfReep - apart from Rumble, Broadhurst and Parker (I guess you could include Forrest and Kerr) the team playing at the moment doesn't even closely resemble the team from 2006 - 2008.
I thought we'd be a win and 2 losses to this point, pretty happy with how things are tracking so far.
Sinclair has been a ripper of a find.
Straight kicking helped as well, last night and the West Perth game had fewer shots but many more goals.
Yep. Pretty atrocious, but a win's a win. Pretty fair to say that things will be different at Subi Oval next week
Really need a proper ruckman, hitouts were 48 to 22, Wheeler is a good player but had no size against Keunen (sp?).
Can't believe I'll be overseas and miss the GF :(
There could be 30 seconds left in the game, Subi up by 2 or 3 goals, and I still wouldn't be confident...
Has been more Subi kicks marked by West Perth players than Subi players :o
The main issue for Subi is that we haven't beaten Claremont or West Perth this year, though form has improved dramatically since then. I spose you could split the season in half and it looks like this:
First Half: 3 Wins, 7 Losses (Claremont x2, West Perth x1)
Second Half: 9 wins, 1 Loss...
Another Subi fan here.
Looking forward to see how Danny Hughes will go this year, good acquisition, would have liked him to have stayed on the Demons list but he'd simply been there too long.
Should add another dimension to our forward line, felt their was too much reliance on Broadhurst...
