1st Test Australia v West Indies Jan 17-21 1000hrs @ the Adelaide Oval

This is ridiculous, was looking forward to seeing test match cricket this weekend but the match is already over. WI aren't upto test match standards. Time to create 2 divisions, so we don't have to play against these minnow teams.

I am not familiar with that incident as it was before my time, so I can't make any valued comment at this time. What was the general public's view at the time?
  3. ibd77

    David Warner

Never said that in that context. I'm focused on Australia's drop in morality and standards to other nations "acceptable" levels.

    David Warner

All I am saying that we should be raising the standards and not dropping it to make a quick buck. During my time following cricket, did Border, Taylor, Waugh, Ponting or Clarke ever stooped this low in achieving their successes?

    David Warner

We as a nation use to pride ourselves on playing any sport within the limits of the rules, bending them slightly but not breaking them. Sure in cricket prior to 2018 we did some things that were questionable to the "spirit of the game" but they weren't illegal or deemed cheating. The...

None of these players played for Australia. These are the other cheating nations we scoff at with our higher standards of play prior to 2018. We now have lower our standards to join the cheating nations in disgrace to the baggy green cap thanks to Warner and Smith.

    David Warner

How many Australian ball tampers have been caught prior to this incident in 2018? Before this incident, we held our national team in the highest esteem that we didn't cheat but push the boundaries of what was already legal. We scoffed at other cheating nations whilst revering our cricket team...

    Who?

    David Warner

I agree that Warner & Smith should have got life time bans in the test match format for disgracing the baggy green cap. Bancroft I would have been a bit more lenient and given him him a second chance as he was following the leadership instructions.

    David Warner

80 grit. That's easy to remember.

    David Warner

See ya, you won't be remembered.

Certified Legendary Thread 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Game 48 The Final India v Australia 19/11 1900hrs @ Narendra Modi Stadium

Best Australian Cricket event of all time. 2 losses early, then the recovery, then the dominate finals series beating the home side in a hostile environment with all the corruption in their favour and the Aussie's beat it all convincingly! Just a pity that the 50 over game is pretty much a...

    5th Ashes Test England v Australia July 27-31 1930hrs @ The Oval

From other matches that end early and the match ball stored as a spare?
  20. ibd77

    5th Ashes Test England v Australia July 27-31 1930hrs @ The Oval

Surely the batting side should agree to the change of ball and be a part of the selection process.

What happened to the weighted coin at the coin toss. That's not cricket.

Maybe they should use smartphones instead of broadcast cameras. At least they can capture high frame rates in super slowmo

Why is it umpires call? I thought the review showed pad first, hitting inline and the wicket.

    5th Ashes Test England v Australia July 27-31 1930hrs @ The Oval

Great recovery last night. Swore we would be all out and behind. So far the English pitches seem to bat better in the final days. It's up to England how many runs they want us to chase to make a game of this.
