Trying to be constructive not sarcastic. If you dont believe me feel free to watch the vid explaining this earlier.
Curious as to how Norths finishing position has anything to do with the path StKilda are now following to rebuild. Or was that just an attempt at a cheap swipe?
The short...
Said it on many threads will repeat it here to.
paying 95% does not mean you overpay players, if your list is only being payed 85% of the cap you can use the remaining 10% to prepay the next year.
This brings you to 95% for the year and creates a larger gap the following year, during which...
Threw this in another thread and thought you guys may appreciate it too as its clearly the path you will be taking over the next few years and shows how Dal leaving now helps over many years.
You want to understand why, these 9 mins will really help you understand
Going to tread carefully here as i understand how you guys must feel at the moment. The only comparissons i can make from Norths perspective are 1: Trading McIntosh last year for what most of us thought was unders, the upside of that is it freed about 600k for us and that has helped us retain...
Would have thought it worked with your cap really well.
600k off the books for Dal next year, is needed very much
960k in 3 years when Roo, Joey, Lenny, Schnider, Jones, Gilbert and Fisher have all come off the books wouldnt hurt that much.
Ok so here is my latest mastermind move from the depths of my twisted mind.
Dal Santo to North as a FA on a back ended 6 year 5 million dollar contract. 3 years on 700k followed by 3 years on 960k.
Saints get band 1 compo being pick 4
Saints give us 2nd rounder for Delaney.
3 years down...
Im pretty sure deals would be written agreed upon and ready to sign before anyone commits to anything.
Wouldnt expect St.Kilda to throw Dal to the wolves or endanger themselves. If North pull a 1.8mil 3 year contract offer to Dal and had a gentlemans agreement with St.Kilda about a trade for...
RFA means Saints see the offer and can match it if they want. Thus they will only not match something that will get them a decent compo.
UFA means the player can walk for any contract and the club can do squat
Definately conflict between AFL website saying the contracts been activated and his manager this morning on SEN saying hes still a RFA.
"Rumor" is Dal has been offered similar money as Saints but an extra year at North and Saints are keen on 2 years at 600k
As a RFA Saints will see any contract before the deal is done. Likely is 3 years between 550k and 600k. Should easily make band 2 or 3, both better than Norths 2nd :)
Just on the Dal trade. More likely is
Dal to North as FA - Saints get compo pick
Deleney to Saints swap of 3rd rounders.
Win/Win for both clubs as Dal compo will likely be higher than Norths 2nd.
So Saints fans whats you thoughts on this
Dal to North as a FA
Delaney to saints for swap of 3rd round picks
Saints get - Delaney, Norths 3rd round pick and Dals compo pick (end of first or mid second up to AFL)
North gets - Dal and Saints 3rd round pick
Win/win i say
