You have understood the trade correctly. Regarding the player only changing clubs once in a trade period, do you have a link to where this is stated? I'm not saying it isn't the case, I'm just interested in reading the AFL's official trade period rules.

The purpose of the trade was to discuss free agency, not speculate on gaff's value. Whoever quoted it on here completely misunderstood it. I don't think Gaff is worth close to pick 2.
