There was barely 5 points between the two teams halfway through the third before PT started to break away. EP started to claw their way back in the 4th and proberbly won the quarter but the stat shows that PT kicked 14 in the last as there was a 5th and 6th quarter.
The 5th and 6th Q were...
Scaife has a cannon of a boot on him clearing 60m with ease. In the right system, he could become a real weapon.
WP unfortunately have had a few injuries to key players so boys like Scaife will get some good opportunities to flourish.
Clayton Taylor who will be a potential 2022 draft player and is one to watch this season in the West Perth Colts.
He's part of your Stephen Hill Academy and reminds me of Cyril Rioli in that he doesn't rack up big numbers but his possessions are very damaging.
Yeah its unfortunate that stats never tell the complete picture of a game and a number of important elements aren't measurable. From my chats with scouts though, stats is king in decision making for the clubs and a lot aren't even published.
The game now days is incredibly stats based and its usually the players with the higher ranking points that get the best opportunities. 10-15 touches would only be meeting the standard if the athlete laid a large number of tackles+spoils and had a high efficiency rate, else it wont be enough.
I...
Managed to get some combine stats for your NGA boys.
J Western: 172cm. VJ: 80cm RVJ: 91cm 20m: 2.88 Yoyo: 21.5
B Walker: 183cm VJ: 73cm RVJ: 94cm. Didn't perform anymore testing.
These results from Joel are very impressive when you compare them to the 2019 National combine results
I cant seem him growing much further as he has short parents. He'll get drafted either way as he has had a much greater impact so far on colts games compared to the other guys in your academy.
I spoke to Manny the other day and he said no clubs had approached him, not even his WAFL reserves or leagues (early days of course)
I think he'll likely play a top ager at colts and possibly states because I'm sure the youth being injected into SF next year will need a good leader.
Isiah Butters has been named to play his first game of Colts for Claremont this weekend.
Leno's start to the year looks a little hot and cold.

Mani's been more consistent but he was invited to tour to SA with the state Academy only to be dropped...

I done a comparative analysis and between WAFL pre season which is in late November until early April, Colts players performed any where between 150 - 200+ hours in training, games, development days etc.
In that same sort of time period, the NGA's had organized around 30 hours. Also I would...
Definitely luck as these boys all lived in the right zones. Western, Walker twins and Haddow were existing talented players who got better through their respective WAFL clubs where they perform the bulk of their training. The academies simply flew over the top, performed a few trainings and...
I've seen a number of scouts watching games lately and they all seem to be taking pages of notes. Are they generally assigned one player to watch or do they take notes on many players?
What are the main characteristics they report on?
Joel Western, Manfred Patti and Liam Henry all played for the state academy in this weeks trial matches vs the SA academy. Replays are at the link below.
