Pull the grass out by hand. Any poisons or mechanical means will likely affect the tree. Once you've cleared back at least 30cm, you can put down a layer of cardboard (or black plastic) weighted down with rocks to stop the grass growing back around the trunk.
It is traditional to grow it on a trellis so it will shade the Northern side of the house. It will help to keep your house cool in Spring, and then let the light/warmth through in Winter when it drops its leaves.
A bit late to be planting them for this year... I wouldn't fertilise them too much just yet, wait for the weather to cool. I'd water them once every 2 days for the first fortnight, and then back to about twice a week for the rest of summer. If you want to fertilise them, then give them a half...
I've seen mutton at the Spud Shed in Kelmscott a couple of times (in the lamb section). Not there all the time unfortunately. Much prefer mutton over lamb.
I've also seen mutton in Coles sometimes.
Channel 9 did a story on a dog attack, but didn't give a lot of info on the dog (omitted most of my description).
The attacking dog was a large brindle dog. It looked like an Amstaff cross. If you see it loose around Gosnells. Avoid it and call the Gosnells ranger on 93973000.
Thanks, Josh

I have never used them.
You may get away with testing the pH and NPK levels. You can probably find a kit to do this...
Maybe they'll be making them in Australia by then. Any produce that is exported will be valued in another currency (probably USD) so as long as exports are strong they can still afford it.
Anyway, they'll write it off on their tax, so it won't suck quite as hard.
It isn't to do with our restrictions on imports. We pay more than 10 times the wages that they do in a lot of Asian countries. We also have much stricter regulations with regards to farming practices, which adds to overheads to farmers. We pay more for water and energy. If these prices came...
Our economy isn't successful. We have "very little" (read "virtually no") manufacturing in this country. We have mostly farming and mining. Our manufacturing is shutting up shop and moving overseas because it is too expensive here (high taxes and high wages).
I am in favour of some constraints...
My problem with the stimulus spending was it's inefficiency. If they had taken the public monies directed at these schemes and used then for large scale infrastructure projects, then we would have gotten the same sorts of benefits (a large amount of flow-on spending in the economy and avoidance...
Our entire system of government is flawed. Allowing people to vote on how money is spent basically means that every election, every political party has to promise more spending to more areas to get elected. Once elected, they can either raise taxes to cover the spending for these promises, or...
