Not sure if this has been posted here yet but I heard an interesting tid bit about your boys booting the coaches out of the rooms this week so the players could have a frank discussion about their performances collectively and individually. Pretty much a your are in or you are out moment for the...
Given its on Free to Air I've heard that we might play with 11 subs and leave it 11 vs 22 for the first half or so in an attempt to keep it interesting for the viewers.
Ah, fair enough. I get your point although I may understand the term 'fringe' a little differently.
Defo Blues missing some very important players, moreso than us. Fingers crossed we both get through clean.
Look, I aint into dick measuring and all that, and this is just a NAB game in which the performane of certsin players and team set ups are more important than the result, but Adams, Mullett, Grima and Tarrant are not finge players but best 22 when fit. You may not agree but I'd wager I have a...
Yeah, reserve seats highly unlikely and scanning your ticket might be hard as the ladies out the front tend to have a cash box only. I'd chck the official ticketing info on the AFL site.
The ground has one very small stand with the social club/pokies venue behind it. Prolly fits about 500. The rest of the ground is like a suburban ground with little to no cover. There is parking out the front next to the road and they open up a field next to the ground for NAB games. Dunno if...
Bloody Menzel knees and injuries. That kid will be an absolute gem if he can stay on the park. Midfielders who can kick goals are worth their weight in gold.
We have very few impact injuries, other than Ziebell and few soft tissue injuries, other than Nathan Grima's back and Swallow's achilles. Not sure how much of it is luck though. We paid top dollar to get Steve Saunders on board and the results speak for themselves.
Our best footy is much, much better than last year. It's just that we also had some of the the worst footy we've played under Scott for a few weeks this season too. If we play our best footy this week, Carlton will know about it.
It's games like that which have suited us this year. We have been pretty much schizo with some decent performances early followed by absolute terrible performances from rounds 7 - 12 and then our best form of the year from round 13 to now. In all our good games we were able to at least break...
Thats pretty much it.
How's the Blues press? Against the Eagles they pressed us well and we struggled to get through. Combined wit ha greater strength at the stoppages they really stymied our flow. The Swans put extreme pressure on us at the stoppages and when carrying the ball so despite...
I overheard some 'industry' folk discussing him last Wednesday at the U/18's. They intimated that Carlton were very keen for him to get back in the 22 for the North game, but that Murphy had yet to commence ball work and that he had lost significant muscle and strength on and around his injured...
I thought Tarrant kicked two on him in early and then he switched to Hansen in the second half who finished the game with 3 and was voted BoG? I do remember Hansen outmarking McCarthy early in the game and Watson trailing behind him in the second half. Anyway, I think quite highly of Watson so...
Watson got toweled up by both Tarrant and Hansen in the VFL a few weeks back. His recent experience at AFL level might give him more confidence in his game though.
Re: Rnd 19 - Carlton v North Melb @Etihad Friday 29th July 7:40PM
Looks like we're focusing on trying to win as much contested ball as possible, swapping a lead up forward for an inside mid.
