Too long, won't catch on as a name for the doping regime and its consequences.

Moved Thread Best term to refer to Essendon's 2012-2016 scandal?

I'd just go with 'Essendon drugs scandal' I suppose

You can entertain that delusion if you want. I understand being defensive in what's pretty much an anti-Essendon "yous did drugz" thread so I'll let it go. Not much value to be added here.

Perhaps, but would Essendon really be in a much different position if they had picked up Florent, Powell-Pepper or Simpkin instead of McGrath?

Moved Thread Supplements saga takes the Bombers closer to a flag

As annoying as it is that Essendon gained access to a good player like McGrath largely due to their own ethical failings, it can't be denied that this little 'resurgence' has largely come off the back of nailing mid-early range picks and developing them well over the last 2-3 years. Essendon...

Maybe the exchange of bodily fluids amongst Essendon players was occurring at some extraordinary rate.

You can't just throw around accusations like that. It was never found out whether they took the HGH-like peptide in order to get a physical edge or if they got the kiddy-thymosin that treats Hepatitus B/C. We'll just never know. #NoPositiveTests

So has anyone who won a Brownlow been found guilty of snorting coke on game day in their Brownlow year?

If it wasn't for that pesky little difference between PEDs and recreational drugs, you'd almost have a point. You still wouldn't, but you'd be closer.

Like I said, I'm terribly sorry if you've had those experiences, but they do not reflect the experiences and lives of most drug users.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-scientific-fundamentalist/201010/why-intelligent-people-use-more-drugs Discussion around drugs needs to be more meaningful than asking if they are 'good' or 'bad'.

Offseason illicit drug tests - now with new thread title

I think you're missing the point. You're approaching this from a very simple, were players from X club taking illicit drugs? Yes or no? If you can step back from the legality issues you'd see that from a football club perspective, this sort of drug use is only harmful as much as it is harmful to...

Offseason illicit drug tests - now with new thread title

Actually studies have shown that intelligent people use illicit drugs noticeably more than less intelligent people. I'm sorry if you or someone you know were negatively affected by illicit substance abuse but on the whole, it's really not that big of a deal.

Illicit drug use in the off-season? You mean a player did a weed? Will probably blow up to be the biggest non-story in the AFLs history.

The thing that sticks out for me is Charter's instructions for the injection of TB-4 coinciding with instructions for injecting 'thymosins' at Essendon, as well as Dank mentioning TB-4 being injected before retracting his statement and then going silent once he heard that TB-4 was banned... Mega Thread Thymosin Discussion - Update -AFL 21/8 - Bombers officially charged with Thymosin beta issues

Ok. I do find it hard to believe that Essendon players were given Thymosin a1, but they were taking some pretty weird stuff for pretty murky reasons. There is also the whole thing about Charter's instructions for TB4 appearing on the instructions for the Essendon 'thymosins'. I'll see how it...

Mega Thread Thymosin Discussion - Update -AFL 21/8 - Bombers officially charged with Thymosin beta issues

Sorry if I'm just not up to date on the whole thing, but if Essendon players did take TB-4, then how could they possibly avoid player bans? It's S2 listed, so there is no grey area, ASADA say that it has been specifically banned since 2011 and it is performance enhancing. There is also strict...
