They have an internal team that develop the site. I believe they went with an enterprise level content management system (thing you manage your website in) running on Java as that company told them they would provide support and help to build and manage the website. They chose this over a much...
Released this morning Itunes link
I believe there is an android version too. Very polished app, makes the AFL and bigpond look like a bunch of amateurs imo
That's all fine (I would love for this to be the case as I don't have foxtel or mobile with Telstra), but NBA has a much, much larger audience where this service would actually generate the NBA a decent profit.
The same thing isn't feasible for AFL and the Telstra deal yields them a LOT more money.
I'm sure if there was a party willing to pay the kind of $$ Telstra are for this service the AFL would sign with them....but unfortunately Australia doesn't have that competition and as you have pointed out, it's worth more to Telstra than the $50 a season it's about signing them on to Telstra...
I witnessed the same thing last year, sub out cleaner for hotel porter / bellhop. He was with Dennis Commetti, both seemed like really nice guys.
Bruce has his wanky calls, but he knows his s**t and is genuinely into the game he is calling.
As a web developer myself, I don't mind the site interface and development (minus the bigpond crap).
The main problem is (from my knowledge) they were paid big money for the AFL website and club websites during the last media deal to be upheld by bigpond. Who brand the s**t out of it, most...
From what I remember she was ok, just a tad boring / monotone. Fix that up and she'll do fine.
She can't do much worse than 'state the obvious, and bang on about something over and over again' Walls
One of the worst articles I've ever read. Seriously who the **** are these people that are outraged over things like this? Is their life so meaningless that they need to stick their two cents in, in an effort to clean up this country?
It probably wasn't the right place to do the stripper thing...
Because Bigpond pay big $$$ to the other clubs to manage their websites.
It's a terrific move by Essendon, who due to their financial position can afford to do this. There's no way a team like Melbourne or North could do this or Carlton two years ago.
In the short term Essendon lose out, but...
Exactly, you wonder if the Journalists are really behind these articles (in todays case I do). Print Media and TV would definitely be worried about the internet and the ramifications it will have on their business. Though, there will most likely remain one constant amongst old and new media...
Sports media and particularly SEN would be foolish to keep taking the 'Leech' negative approach to this matter in future. One would assume a large % of SEN listeners and callers either are members or frequent forums such as Bigfooty.
From what I heard of the run home, clearly they (Francis)...
1991 I wish! Parachute pants and undercuts were all the rage...
More to the point I think they're being a little precious, don't you think? And more so the article is written by Robinson who on numerous occasions is bagged on this very forum. Think he might be trying to get one back...
Some of the things said on this site can go overboard at time, though most are valid.
I couldn't help but notice the irony in the article that a bunch of Jocks are getting upset that thousands of nerds behind computers, are saying negative things about them
