Speaking of ex Port players. Taj Schofield had a great month for Subiaco. Has averaged 22 touches and 2.5 goals over the last 4 games. He is moving extremely well and his skills look great.

Tyler Sellers is very intriguing. Smart, tough and a good mark. His step up to VFL level has been very impressive.

St.Kilda is an interesting case as well. Caminiti and Owens have done well with their mobility and workrate. McStay/Mihocek is a high workrate pairing. The Swans looked good with McDonald and Amartey too.

It feels like work rate and second efforts with talls is very important. A few teams have struggled with tall and clunky forward lines.

    2023 AFL Draft General Discussion

The draft feels really balanced right now. Having Curtin, Walter, Archer Reid and maybe Caddy as top 10 talls is really nice. It means a team with pick 7 could have the chance at picking up the 4th rated small or the 4th rated tall of the draft.

    2023 AFL Draft General Discussion

I think teams would. Most teams are pretty good at finding quality AFL players outside of the first round. Losing a couple of first rounders is not going to leave the cupboard bare.

Curtin must be great if he is ahead of Walter. Walter is just hilariously powerful for his age. Absolute wrecking ball.

Preview 2022 AFL Draft General Discussion

Just wondering who could play a role that is similar to Brad Close. The sort of hard-working small forward who can push up to the stoppage and provide a little bit of everything. Seth Campbell? Archie Lovelock? Charlie Clarke? Darcy Jones?

Really like the upside of Cowan. Quick, powerful 190cm defender/mid with a massive kick. His rough edges are pretty forgivable at his age too. If he is developed well he could be a real weapon.

The obvious one right now is Frank Szekely. He is the only mature aged prospect with a combine invite.

    Prediction 2022 Phantom Drafts

One thing to remember with Hayes is that he is one of the youngest in the draft. It looks likely that his final height is 2m. Which is a big deal in this era of supersized forwards.

    Prediction 2022 Phantom Drafts

Nate Caddy is a first round prospect for the 2023 draft.

    Prediction 2022 Phantom Drafts

I would be extremely surprised if Nate Caddy went 4th round. I expect him to go much, much later but also a lot earlier.

Henry Hustwaite is a tough player to judge. If you were convinced he could play as an inside mid at the AFL level he could be very valuable. If you aren't convinced. He would be the third best key back prospect in the draft even if his poise in traffic carries value as a CHB.

I thought Clever was very good WA. Defended Mattaes Phillipou well and was very effective on the rebound too.

Everytime I watch him I think Lewis Hayes is a clear 1st round prospect. Seems strange to me that no one else has him in that range.

I had assumed the opposite as he has started to get a lot more football recently. I thought he had been moving into the midfield instead of out of it.

Is Konstanty being underrated on here? He looks like a tough, quick small forward who contributes in multiple ways. His last month has been especially strong.

I do wonder about the growth and changing roles of some of these players. Do you think Reid will end up as a mid? Zane Duursma is 188cm at 16. He will probably grow beyond 190cm easily. What would his position be? Wing? 3rd tall? Mid? What is your opinion of Colby McKercher?
