Walsh
Rozee
Stack
Smith
Baker
Rozee, Smith and Stack will have the best careers though IMO.
Walsh seems vanilla that will rack up the possies but do no damage.
The other 3 will win games for their clubs regularly.
In the NBA the teams can "protect" their future picks.
Eg. the spurs could trade their 2021 1st round pick top 3 protected. Meaning if they end up with a top 3 they keep it and they need to give something else of significance to the team they had the trade with
Why? They are always on the bottom so they would get a higher % of getting the #1 but wouldnt be gaurentee it
I would argue that it would benifit teams like Essendon, North, Freo ect that are always around the mark but havent been able to take the next step.
Imagine if the Dogs finish 9th this...
Pickett isnt going to play right up before the finals?
Couldnt you argue that he is the perfect mid-season recruit?
He will come in at the perfect time to try and help win a flag.
What do people think of Brad Scotts comments?
For those who missed it he said that clubs will most likely take young kids instead of the 23+ year olds that the mid season draft was originally designed for to help top up lists with players that can impact straight away.
He said their list manager...
Come on mate....
We had plenty of years down the bottom.
Cotchin was pick 2, Martin 3, Rance 18, Reiwoldt 13.
Deledio was our only #1 and that was Buddys year...ask the Hawks how they ranked the 2004 draft?
Yes I know its an American idea but the results yesterdays NBA lottery resulted in should encourage the AFL to introduce a lottery.
The New Orleans Pelicans who only had a 6% chance of getting the #1 pick ended up with it.
3 teams that blatantly tanked all year ended up with the 3rd (Knicks) 5th...
I like the idea.
Dimma seemed to hint that we will take someone but not necessarily a key defender.
I think we are going to back in Garthwaight and Balta to cover Rance.
I wouldnt be surprised if we took another mid or 2nd tall for the defence
Walsh will most likely be a 250 gamer but i think the debat out there before the draft was that Lukosius and Rankine are potentially more freakish but are more of a risk.
No doubt Carlton made the right call though IMO.
Walsh, Dow, Weitering, Curnow have the potential to be in the top 10 players of the leauge. Add Cripps to that as well
If they fill their potential Carlton will win a flag in the next 5-7 years
They will slowly improve this year and next maybe even 2021 but will then be seriously contending IMO.
Yer id say Carlton was keen before he started training with the Tigers.
Once he started training with the Tigers i doubt the Blues tried to steal him away and plus why would he leave a good club for the Blues... :P
Vlaustin said RCD was nearly best on for the Tigers in a intra club hit out.
"I've been impressed with Riley Collier-Dawkins and 'Rossy' (No.42 draft pick Jack Ross)," he said.
"We had a little match-sim on Monday and Collier-Dawkins was probably best-on."
