I'm scared of your transition game.
We are lacking forward marking targets in Mckay and Martin. Can see Sydney defenders winning the ball and slingshotting to Buddy and Co.
Interesting that you used 10 different players to our 7.
We rely on TDK to do almost all the centre ruck contests whereas you can use your 2 rucks relatively evenly.
Taking rucks out, it's 8 to 5. We don't really change it up much in there.
I suspect it's because some are kind of making out like getting Daniher is costing you Papley.
But imagine losing Papley and bringing in no one of note?? That would be a real disaster.
Get Daniher and it softens the blow and is an amazing get (if you can get him fit). He's not much older than...
IF Papley is happy to leave and IF Daniher is happy to join...would you accept effectively a straight swap?
Eg Trade Papley to Carlton, then on-trade those assets to Essendon for Daniher.
Get a gun key forward (when fit) to replace Reid and soon takeover soon enough from Buddy.
Try to fill...
It really is quite amusing...both sets of fans quite toxic and over-the-top.
Crows fans lashed their team for being pathetic in the 2017 GF despite being up against a rampaging Richmond. They did this after their coach was murdered only a few seasons prior...pretty impressive effort by the...
A few credible ITK's on our board have been saying for a while that Cameron is keen to come to Carlton.
Don't really know anything about him, is he a bright prospect or simply ruck depth? He's already 24 and still seems pretty far off being a no.1 ruck.
Also same ITK's saying Papley looking...
Devon Smith?
A far better comparison would be Charlie Cameron...similar type of player who was also contracted.
He went for pick 12.
Would give up Adelaide's 1st pick straight swap.
I probably haven't seen enough of them tbh to make an accurate call.
But i thought Rowbottom was playing at half back today? Could be wrong.
And my memory of Hewett is mostly as a run-with player rather than a ball winning bull in the Kennedy mould. Again maybe i just haven't payed close...
Should be a relatively brief stint out of finals with a bunch of talented kids coming through.
However would desperately want to get a reliable big bodied inside mid & another key defender real quick.
From a list management POV they seem to have really dropped the ball in those 2...
I remember watching enviously as Hayward and Florent burst onto the scene...smooth moving kids and Hayward an excellent shot at goal.
Disappointing to see both go backwards but this can happen in the development of young players. Both seem to have lost their confidence and spark.
Not sure if...
Is Papley under contract?
No way you guys would want to trade him, but have heard he's considering going back to VIC.
Would be happy to trade Crows 1st for him.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but it looks like you are going in with a very, very short defence.
Do you have any key tall defenders outside Aliir and Rampe (who isn't actually that tall).
We have McKay, Casboult and McGovern...with McKay and Casboult both being around 200cm. I reckon we'll try...
49 pages now lol.
Congratulations, you'll surpass our last weeks preview thread vs Port of 50 pages.
Gonna get to 60 pages before the game starts at this rate.
What happened with Newman exactly, was he in poor form at Sydney?
Simply squeezed out and behind Jones, McVeigh, Mills, Rampe, Smith etc?
He's been good for us in the 2 games so far.
Pretty standard for our board tbh. Last weeks game vs Port, the preview thread got up to 50 pages ;)
I have noticed we seem to be one of the more active boards on BF, with lots of activity including long ass preview and review threads.
Been a bit surprised when i've checked out some other...
Well that's good news for us, i hope they're operating at around 50% again this week ;)
Interesting start from the Swans and i've seen on your board debate about Horse, cause looking at your team on paper it still looks really strong, with solid senior players like JPK, Parker, Buddy, Papley...
Haha what he said here is fine and Jezza's reaction is a little over the top, but Daenus constantly throws cheap insults at Carlton in many threads so us Carlton posters have little patience with him. Literally posts that same comment in every opposition boards thread when we're playing them...
I've been lamenting the injuries we've had, including a few key players (Curnow, Kreuzer, Docherty). Murphy got a head knock and is a maybe, and we're missing Cuningham, Pickett, Wiliamson and maybe Marchbank.
Looking at Sydney it appears the only best 22 player out with injury is Nick Smith...
Had a shocking game vs Richmond, but was looking OK in the 1st quarter vs Port...always a threat though capable of a big game to keep defenders honest.
Are Sydney missing any of your best 22? A quick look at your team and it looks pretty much full strength.
I was actually reasonably...
Haven't been following Sydney closely lately but i do recall when Florent first hit the scene and he looked a really promising prospect...good attack on the ball and man, energy, hard running down the wing/half forward.
And IIRC Heeney and Mills were mids as juniors weren't they? Surprised that...
Hmm gotcha.
I think come trade time clubs will have a pretty good idea where Blakeley will likely go...reports right now seem to indicate he will go before pick 10.
Live trading may help with this as well.
