Because he's showing signs of improvement. While you may be a fair way off #1 in this thread, at least they have posted recently that his recent form is showing signs that we should stick with him You just make excuses for why any sign of improvement is still not good enough As for the 3 time...

You've posted the 2nd most times in this thread, we get it you don't rate him, why the need to continually remind us that you are writing him off?

He was always said to be a longer term prospect though, so doesn't fit into a normal timeline. The lack of playing time during covid pushes that out as well I think it would be silly to be letting him go now after putting so much work into him, we need as much midfield depth as we can get

Not exactly the time for that kind of comment

Had a feeling this was coming, but it still sucks to see it be official A true Tiger Champion

Grabbed at his hammy late, but came back on to finish the game so it may just have been a slight cramp

Because it wasn't as simple as that, Shane started 2021 really well, for your bullshit about not playing well for 2 years, he was great up until about Round 6-8 From memory he then did his ankle, kept rehabbing it to where he was selected again but then it would flare up again It's easy in...

Player Watch #10: Shane Edwards - Retiring at Seasons end

He's played far more than just one excellent game in 2 years, plus it's a hugely unfair comment given how much he couldn't get his body right last year.

Still don't believe there's any merit to the calls that Shedda is being carried in the team He played a good game today, 13 disposals @ 84% efficiency, 2 goals, 3 goal assists, 9 score involvements, 4 marks, 3 inside 50s 9th best player on the ground for both teams accoring to AFL Player Ratings...

This week is the bye, so unless he gets an AFL call up, it's only one more game to go

I'd be very surprised if he retires before the finals start, so you're not going to know that it's his farewell game until after the fact

Could easily do a 1 year deal with triggers for more based on senior games played

He's playing up forward for us, so not getting as much of the ball as he used to Is 2nd only to Bolton for goal assists this year in the entire team He'll be playing out the rest of the year

Gotta love when "supporters" come on to pot a bloke when he didn't even get to play on the weekend due to a bye

You say that, but then the VFL report on him was pretty positive and said he had 8 clearances, which is pretty elite

Wouldn't have happened if he'd been picked in the seniors over Castagna like he should have been

Player Watch #23: Kane Lambert - Retired effective immediately

My understanding is that if a player needs to retire due to injury, that based on WorkCover requirements they essentially get paid out 12 months of their salary anyway. If that is still the case, then I would hope we would move Kane to the rookie list and get him the surgery needed to fix this...

    Player Watch #26 Riley Collier-Dawkins

He's mostly been played out of position at AFL level with only limited center bounce appearances I should have mentioned the 5-6 clearance numbers in a quarter were at VFL level Even so, the 5 in a game against West Coast, if he could maintain that would have him in the Top 30 mids in the game...

    Player Watch #26 Riley Collier-Dawkins

RCD's weakness was his outside running, though he does seem to be covering quite a lot of distance in his matches now, so perhaps it's good that he could have another role to play in the team. That being said his clearance numbers are generally very high, even with some of his limited time in...

Lost none of his class from what I saw tonight, as long as he has a decent run with injury, he's the least of our concerns

One of our best tonight, seems to be working his way into the season Should never write off a champion player like him so quickly

Player Watch #37 Matthew Parker - Returned home to WA effective immediately

It's not just the pre-season, he didn't have a chance to play any games at the lower level given they were only doing multi-club scrimmages Similar thing happened this year as he couldn't learn our game plan at VFL level as it wasn't on for the 2nd half of the year I'm not saying that he's...

Player Watch #37 Matthew Parker - Returned home to WA effective immediately

He only had 2 seasons at the Saints straight out of being drafted and the 2nd season he only played 2 games in a Covid affected year, so he didn't exactly get much chance to improve there

    Player Watch #26 Riley Collier-Dawkins

Even the best mids in the game average 85% TOG, so he just needs to get to about 75% in 2022 and then 80%+ in 2023
