The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

Your opinion is corrupt, supported by questionable external interests and needs to be disregarded. Your post count in this thread is far higher than the average.

The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

Who says I give a *? I just like holding people to account - doesn’t mean I care about them. Unsubstantiated assumption on your behalf, and that’s leaving the inherent circularity in your line of comment here.

So you don’t have any evidence for your claim about being close to bankruptcy. A person with a shred of integrity would retract it.

The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

This is 100% it, and in a competitive sport you need to take any advantage you can.

The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

I disagree with the what and to believe in the what (which is not demonstrable through descriptive data alone) I’ll need a reasonable explanation for the why. As anyone should. To be clear - you should not include reasons for the perceived bias including good discipline by the dogs or any...

The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

Really? Have you had a look back through this thread as you’ve claimed? The person I quoted definitively has on a number of occasions. Do you care to elaborate on what the reasons for this perceived bias are? You’re making the claim and so the onus is on you to do so. And before you refuse...

The Bulldogs and Umpires: Time for a Royal Commission?

It was a leading question numnuts. You realise what that is, don’t you? It’s intended to bring out anyone stupid enough to think there is a conspiracy. Why don’t you answer it with your best guess? I’m sure Q will be involved.

Care to entertain us all with your understanding of the reasons for this vast pro bulldogs conspiracy?

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

He had a clear opportunity to dispose of it. He didn’t take it.

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

I dont think it wouldve happened in the first ten minutes. I think in this case the umpire shat his dacks due to the crowd and the context of the game.

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

S/He can’t - they were anxious to get in here and shift the goalposts and make themself feel better about what was an obvious injustice. Presumably to enjoy the win (although there may be another motivation about which they can enlighten us). That was up there for most unfair periods of...

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

I think if they were made full time, part of it is that they should be given the support to participate in/comment on and influence rule changes appropriately. They have to officiate them after all. it’d make them more invested in the rules and do it more carefully, not the maverick pack of...

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

It’s an important role and to be competently done, and given a fair bit of available funding, it should be well renumerated IMO. Agree as part of that it needs to be full time. They should have an EA and not be allowed to have other jobs concurrently.

So not nearly enough. Should be 150k a year IMO

Can an independent commission investigate the AFL for blatant cheating?

This isn’t inconsistent with your point. It actually shows they need to be paid and trained properly. If we paid them half properly we could demand basic professional standards - which were dramatically not met tonight. The outcome tonight is as much an indictment on the AFL as it is on the...

Even if we did, am I wrong? The last five minutes umpiring cost Brisbane the game. This is an objective fact.

Do you really think free kick totals are evidence of equity or lack thereof? Watch the last 5 minutes again.

Must’ve been hesitation given the context. Lack of leadership. Needs to be fired.

Don’t even try it. That was the most unbelievably one sided display of umpiring I’ve seen in years. That last five minutes was a disgrace (the frees to Selwood were a joke). Home crowd s**t. This was an occasion where you can definitively say that the umpiring determined the result.

That needs a review. Umpire should lose their job. the end.

Free Kick differential over the last 15 years

If the prediction I have made about the eagles having a proportionally higher home vs. away differential than any other team is accurate (which has nothing to do with your overall advantage) then the crowd is the best explanation. Unless certain sides just do it at home vs away over 15 years...

Free Kick differential over the last 15 years

Sorry if it has been posted already but does anyone have home vs away figures for this? If the crowd is the influencing factor then it is most likely that not only would it be a higher home differential for WCE (which would be natural for any team), but it would be a proportionally higher home...

Mega Thread Bachar Houli has been reported for this incident with Jed Lamb

What is wrong with Al Jazeera? I take the Gulf Crisis stuff with a grain of salt but apart from that they seem quite measured.

The project simply isn't proper news. I'll admit it that I watch it, but that is because it is light entertainment. I go to Al Jazeera and the Guardian for my news. Anyone who thinks he is a proper journalist has it all wrong.

Can you articulate precisely what is wrong with having an agenda and being careful with your words? Are you implying that to be a good media figure you must be a vaccuous buffoon? There is something very wrong when only Billy Brownless seems to fit with your preferences.

They clearly didn't, agree. This kind of action could lead to Dustin Martin getting 8 weeks for wrestling (and this isn't a slippery slope fallacy in this case... consistent with their stated decision making) Not sure why they took leave of their senses in such a way. Others are hating on Aly...

Lewis' hit last was worse in 2015, intentional. Got 3 weeks. Disagree with the reasoning for the decision though. Waleed simply gave a character reference... why are people hating on him for that? It was the tribunal that made the decision. Anyone who is, explain why? Really weird.

precieved favouritism of umpiring Bulldogs games

What evidence? The free kick differential. Instances of undisciplined ply leading to free kicks (I.e. Jones, Mills) You can't see much difference because you assume there is a conspiracy every time a free kick is paid for the dogs and against st kilda and Sydney, rather than using Occam's...

precieved favouritism of umpiring Bulldogs games

We are clearly trained to collect free kicks, which is a reason for the differential. Don't believe me? Watch Picken in the Mills free kick closely. It's not our fault that teams like Sydney and the Saints are undisciplined. But no, keep believing conspiracy theory idiocy.
