Wtf is this?
"Port, we gave up first rounders for Jeremy Cameron and Patrick Dangerfield, so now you have to give us a first rounder for our out of contract 25 year old fourth choice KPD!"
Have you forgotten what thread you're in? BZT thread is thattaway.
Esava spent most of last year and part of this year in the VFL. He's leaving for more opportunity. A fringe player by any definition. That said, he's still a more talented player than the spud who Dodoro wants a first rounder for.
We have the capital that they're actually worth. Future 2nd for an uncontracted Esava and 37 for an uncontracted BZT is plenty in the eyes of any objective observer.
If the worst list manager in the league decides as one last parting gift to Essendon after 20 years of his lists not winning a...
It wouldn't be happening in this thread if your club wasn't utterly embarrassing itself with its ludicrous trade demands.
How this could have and should have gone is Geelong ask for a reasonable price such as a future second, Port say yes, everyone shakes hands, and the deal gets done 5 minutes...
Trading a first rounder to get only uncontracted bog average players in return is a massive failure whether it's two, three or ten uncontracted bog average players. And you all apparently have a lot more faith in Port Adelaide than me to expect that first rounder to be pick 15 or so. I'd be very...
Port making indefensibly terrible off-field decisions would be nothing new. I'm not necessarily saying we won't, I'm saying we shouldn't.
And I notice no Essendon supporter has answered the question about whether they would be happy to give up a Ben Hobbs or Archie Perkins type for Esava and...
Draft points lol.
How about we just forget BZT and trade 37 and our future 2nd for Essendon's future 1st then? Sounds like a fair deal doesn't it? What with one first rounder being the equivalent of two late seconds and all.
I would be absolutely happy for Port to take our chances in the PSD...
How do Carlton think they're fitting Jack Billings and Elijah Hollands into their 22 next year? There are heaps of clubs where a fit Billings would be walk up best 22. Carlton isn't one of them.
Freo makes a lot more sense.
If your club was bringing in an uncontracted Esava Ratugolea and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher, would you be happy to give up a first rounder to do it? A Ben Hobbs or an Archie Perkins for those two, does that sound like the sort of deal you'd want your club to do?
If Gold Coast demand a future first rounder for Chris Burgess and Adelaide refuse, is that Adelaide's fault?
Having a player nominate you doesn't require you to cave to utterly ludicrous demands from the two most delusional men in football.
Best case result: Port tell Mackie and Dodoro to go * themselves, walk Rat and BZT to the PSD, and get them.
Good result: Port get Rat and BZT for a trade price that adequately reflects their ability and uncontracted status, i.e. a couple of mid-to-late second rounders at absolute most...
Not remotely a decent proposal. If Port trade a first rounder and get nothing more than Ratugolea and Zerk-Thatcher back, then whoever is responsible needs to be sacked on the spot.
They are both very average and uncontracted players. Neither are worth more than about a late second rounder. One...
Yep. 38 is what we should actually be giving up in the end, not our opening gambit. May as well start with a future fourth rounder considering who we're dealing with, it would still only be the second stupidest demand that's been made in relation to BZT this trade period.
"Kane Cornes is struggling to believe reports out of Essendon that they want a first-round pick for key defender Brandon Zerk-Thatcher. The young key defender was serviceable for the Bombers in 2023 and has requested a move to Port Adelaide in this year’s trade period.
The Herald Sun is...
So from what I can gather from this thread Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines isn't worth a first rounder but reverse Coleman winner Brandon Zerk-Thatcher is.
Trade period is the worst part of the AFL season by far.
They should. Darcy and Luke Jackson being on the same list is a complete waste. Learn a lesson from Melbourne and get out now while they both still have value.
Make that pick a bit later and swap the words 'forward' and 'defender' around and we have Esava. Except he's four years older, and uncontracted, and wants out.
Hahaha! You come on here, get a whole bunch of stuff objectively wrong, then accuse the bloke pointing out all the things you got objectively wrong of 'trolling'. Good stuff mate.
Good to know that the apparent Geelong supporter impulse to just pretend somebody never got dropped if it suits...
Given that he was the sub, I doubt it. Perhaps you should try having the slightest idea what you're talking about before you comment on things in future.
They don't make us anywhere near better enough to contend for a flag. And they'll cost more draft capital than Brodie Grundy and Ben McKay would have cost put together.
Essendon get to swap spud Zerk-Thatcher for Ben McKay and get a draft pick for the privilege. Free agency is ridiculous.
