From Charlie Gardner:
"The deal that was tabled early last week involving pick No.17 was not as good a deal as the one we accepted last night. It involved a slide of picks in this year's draft, as well as future selections given up in next year's draft that would have compromised not only this...
Never seen a report of this. The only report I ever saw was you give 17 and Sydney give extras to Adelaide. I've never even seen a report it was 17 on it's own, let along these "sweeteners" you mention.
For Sydney, the ideal situation would be that North say they are willing to take him. If Jordan really doesn't want to go to North, that leaves 3 options:
1. Adelaide offer up something better than the lowball garbage they have offered so far.
2. Jordan can do a deal with Port if he really...
They can if he wants to go into the PSD. That's the rules. He can go to whatever state he is drafted or he can give up playing.
If he wants to make sure he lives in S.A, he'd better get the Crows to give a trade Sydney will accept.
For those saying North wouldn't take him in the PSD, remember Dawson is from Robe, not Adelaide.
That's about 4.5 hours drive from Adelaide, and about 6 hours drive from Melbourne. That is not the greatest difference in the world.
North, with Blakey there who oversaw a lot of his development...
According to the old formula, the maximum age bonus was +12 for being 26. I don't think there was a way to get any more? If so, Hewett should get the same age bonus, and then it simply comes down to salary. If Hewett's is similar, we should get the same compo. If Hewett is higher, we might get...
There's literally video of him talking to Luke Parker where he says he sees himself as an inside mid. Parker tells him not to pigeonhole himself (maybe swans see him as inside-outside), but he definitely sees himself as inside mid.
Found it...
Yeah, i don't get it either. But Dodoro's opening statement was they were going to keep him, and the "Mission accomplished" message kind of backs that up.
We can only ever speculate (wildly). We just don't, and will never, know the details.
But even the players that were named didn't make sense. Heeney is nothing like Joe Daniher. Neither is Parker. Neither is Blakey. They are all good in their own way, but none are a "replacement" for Joe, which is what Dodoro kept going on about. "Can't find a KPF replacement in this draft"...
I think there might be a third option, in that Dodoro was never going to let him go. Either the club thinks they are in a flag window, or believe the fans think they are in a flag window, and Joe could be the difference in 2020 (which may well be true, we'll see). So Dodoro set an unreasonable...
Pick 9 = 1469
Pick 25 = 756
1469-756 = 713 = approx pick 27.
So SOS effectively wants to pay pick 27 for Papley. Competing with Dodo for the "hard to deal with" title for 2019.
Lol.
We offered 9 and 25. If he leaves as a RFA, you will get a mid first round or an end of first round (AFL discretion based on the "formula"). If you think you'll make finals, let's say pick 13, or 19 as the end of first pick.
Pick 13 = 1212 points
Pick 19 = 948 points.
Pick 9 +25 =...
This was my post. You replied and said they had offered him a longer deal. Dodoro says you are wrong. Now you claim it was only one year after all? Make up your mind.
If.
If.
If.
Just stop it with the "IF".
Osteitis Pubis. Not fit and firing. 11 games in 2 years. May never get back to his best. Essendon won't offer him a long term extension out of fear of this. If you club admits he may be shot internally, they can't then expect everyone else to pay as if...
No Kelly isn't 5 and 9.
Draft value index (based on expected output and salary averages)
5 (1878) + 9 (1469) = 3347.
Pick 1 = 3000.
Kelly is not worth Pick 1. Neither is Joe. 5 and 9 is worth more than pick one, therefore neither are worth 5 and 9.
So Tim Kelly is worth 2 late first rounders and a second. I understand Joe has one more year on a contract, but at the end of that you get a single late first rounder.
I hope the Swans offer Pick 9 (Papley) and 25, and no more. Joe not worth 5 and 9 if that's the price for Kelly. Not even close.
"It's on them". Haha, whatever.
A favourite son of your club wants out. You've mismanged him and his injuries, and going by your on-field performance, there is disharmony at the club too. This "lifestyle" excuse is just that. He wants out of Essendon, and he knows Sydney and the people there...
Was wells a FA or RFA?
FA you're bidding on an open market, so the same rules don't apply. RFA you are specifically competing with one club, so you are held to the contract terms and length. Otherwise you could just offer 2 million per season, then re-negotiate once you have the player. It's...
