They’ve clearly tried with the player modelling. Beyond that, I’ll wait to see some actual gameplay, but there’s a stiffness to the animations still. 10/10 for modelling Razor Ray into the game.
Gameplay is what counts though, fingers crossed (again).

Is this actually an indication of some progress being made?
Minor patch suggestion for 2018 version:
West Coast fans still all wear the 2016 jersey design, not even last year’s and certainly not this year’s. It wouldn’t be so bad if they looked anything alike, but they don’t.
It has let me recruit to 2018 teams, but I’ve had a far less painful experience with the update than seemingly everyone on here, so I’m not sure if I’ve actually done the update right. Ratings are also obviously a little off between the 2017 and 2018 versions.
For West Coast, I think the big...
Is anyone planning on doing corrections with the new version? I’m giving it a go with the West Coast list but the existing ones here are absolutely putting me to shame.
Also tweaking ratings a little, bringing a few guys down and a few younger kids up - ratings in this update are quite...
I don't think this applies for the O'Mara situation, but are there other players where the editing of the sound clip ruins the name?
For example, they've cut the end of the LeCras clip so it sounds almost like LeCrack, stops so abruptly after the Cr sound. Any others?
I always go immediately to the left, wait for the LBP to run to the boundary and just as he turns just tap the kick button and you get it to him in the pocket 20m from where you started.
From there either pick options or if you do just kick the torp it's 20m further away and on the wing...
For marking I've found that positioning and engaging your opponent with L helps big time. Have to be as close to the front and centre of the circle, and these guys have it right, hit Triangle/Y a beat before the circle goes white, you should start your animation.
Spoiling with the R stick is so...
Left my initial thoughts in the launch thread here, the gist of which were best moments are satisfying but far too many shortcomings in a lot of areas. Clunky games with good bits mixed in.
Well, I've just figured out marking and it's opened up the entire game. Getting really satisfying...
As I mentioned, figured out marking and it's just opened up the entire game. Getting really satisfying passages of play like this multiple times a game, some really fun moments. Have played for probably 4-5 hours total now, and all the little things have started clicking for me. It's basically...
Marking tip - get to the front/centre of the circle and body your opponent by crashing into them with the L stick.
R stick works so much better at spoiling than triangle.
Just had the best game yet. 10min, hard, I just figured out marking and it's opened the whole thing up. Completely clicked for me. Able to kick out of defence (I go to the back pocket first now, wait for the BP to run out then start your kick softly as they begin to double back towards you) and...
Thought it might be a good idea to collate minor issues with the game that could be easily addressed in a patch, just to add a level of polish which might improve people's experience.
Things I'm thinking of:
Mitch McGovern is listed as 32 years old in career mode
Teams that had BLK jumpers...
One thing I'd like to see patched, purely aesthetic but it seems like the sort of thing that should never have been wrong; as people have mentioned, a lot of the BLK jumpers are wrong. On top of this, all of the Eagles' flags and jerseys in the crowd are our old tri-panel jersey from two seasons...
They seem to but, as I say, I've had people gain heaps of experience who didn't play while people who did play for me end up with 0 experience at the end of the week.
Choosing how you up their stats is interesting to me though, means you can really tailor your players to your play style and...
I'm a fanatic about manager mode, play decades of in game seasons in FIFA at a time, get through multiple 82 game seasons on 2k, it's the only mode I'll ever care about. Have only played a few games of my first season on Evolution, so can't answer three, but:
1. There is finance, albeit...
Have yet to see any sort of slider, but there are some bare bones coaching changes. Credit to them in that they do drastically alter how your team operates, but there's at most three options per heading, and not many headings.
Priddis is only about 3 acceleration and 2 speed behind Jetta, lost my s**t when I saw Priddis 89 acceleration. Nic Nat gets run down the second he gets the ball, even with space. I find they've made the ball carrier far too slow once you have any sort of separation, as though they want you to...
God forbid two people have a different game experience. Like I'm sticking with the game and enjoying it a solid amount, but you can't deny there's things that could be clearer and need tidying up.
Just because it's the only AFL game we've got and that is better than nothing doesn't mean people...
Wicked Witches a video marking tutorial would get so much free exposure. Plz, I just want to be able to mark the ball as McGovern without some tiny forward flank diving from 15 metres deep to grab it.
Has anyone else had somebody paid a mark whilst over the line? Playing vs Hawks, AI kicks it towards Roughy but it goes about 5-10 metres through for a behind, but Roughy has started his marking animation just inside the field of play and dives, almost into the fence, for the ball. Mark was paid...
Some further thoughts after my second spell with the game:
Positives:
The satisfying moments are more satisfying than any AFL game yet. Going coast to coast after a kick-out feels awesome, running off your man to get a handball from a teammate is really fun - the times where you feel in...
Don't understand the hyperbole. It's fine. There are moments where you can actually feel really in control and a well worked attack is satisfying, just that those are too few and far between amongst what amount to a 'who has more at the ball' contests. Marking is certainly a frustrating point...
