A 70,000 seat stadium will have 70,000 corporates and 0 members. 70,000 is completely inadequate for the fans as there wont be any.
And if its capable of holding 70,000 at afl then why doesnt it hold 70,000? When they say crowds can be expanded on most stadiums thats usually only for sports...
Capitalism is also preventing my local club with an average 100 supporters at each game from getting an afl license. Damn you capitalism and your desire to allocate resources where people most desire them to be.
With the power vacuum that is about to be created in Asia with the withdrawal of the US I think it's wise if we keep the hell out of there. Going to be dropping nukes soon all over the place like the near 7 foot high school bully with unresolved homosexual tendencies drops wet willies.
Except we dont get the same advantage of interstate sides as our opponents often dont have to get on a flight to play us. Why did you ignore that fact?
It's a 25 minute train drive from central Sydney and ANZ was their home ground for over a decade. Where is all this anger when the cats have to travel to their oppositions home city and home ground to play their home finals (and numerous home and away games)?
If all geelongs home finals were at geelong this gws at spotless wouldn't be an issue. It's only an issue cos geelong continually get screwed out of home finals bar that one against freemantle.
I am fully against the super tax reduction scheme. It is a joke and for some reason labour seem more for it than the liberals at the moment. Bizarre world. But in any case the amount the gil can put in it is miniscule compared to his overall income. He may well be cheating the tax system but it...
He ain't earning more than everyone else. He is the ceo of the afl and one player, Gary ablett, has earned a higher annual salary in some of his years then the ceo. What CEOs earn less than some of their workers? His wage is so low compared to his players you almost have to ask, is he a commi?
In basic capitalism machines do all the work and playing football would be a pure leisure activity and all the players would play for zero wage and the pure fun of it.
As for the biases in the system that needs to be fixed this is well well down the list. Shift your attention to the bigger ones such as the draw would be a start.
Richmond, carlton and Essendon woes ain't cyclical. It's mismanagement. A cycle would suggest teams are playing finals almost every second year. Yet it is far from the case for these clubs. Throw in Melbourne as well.
If that was the case they would let smaller supported teams have blockbuster games and let the big clubs have non blockbuster games. Yet we see the opposite.
Interesting finding. Do you get the same sort of consistent results when you look at the amount of teams that make a grand final in a decade? Or even amount of teams that make the top 4 over say a five year period?
True but the fifties still look shorter. In any case even if it is correct dimensions it's still the smallest. All official afl grounds should be atleast 165 metre long.
Partly true. Once the ball and players have got to the ball you are correct. But the longer the ground the more running a defence has to get back which means it's easier to beat a zone as players have to run further to implement it. Flooding and congestion is only one part of the reason why the...
Length is the main issue and scg is shorter then all grounds. It used to be even shorter in the old books but it has somehow magically become longer in official books in recent years (which is very dubious). Even in the current official books it is still to short. Mcg is closer to 16 metres...
Yes afl might not currently be a yardage game (although it used to be and is still at amateur levels) because grounds are now smaller than they used to be, kicking is also longer and more accurate. We need longer grounds not shorter grounds to improve the game.
Etihad is a problem too which I have already stated. Adelaide oval is far longer than scg which fixes many of the issues I have with the scg even if it has small width. Anz is also longer than the scg, albeit not by a lot. Plus not sure if anyone truly believes the reported scg length...
